The Progressive Conservative Party of Prince Edward Island is one of three major political parties on Prince Edward Island. Murdock MacKinnon
Murdoch MacKinnon (March 15, 1865 – October 12, 1944) was a Canadian politician and served as the 11th Lieutenant Governor of Prince Edward Island. MacKinnon was born in Brooklyn, Prince Edward Island to parents of Scottish descent, Lauchlin MacKinnon and Mary MacDonald. He received his higher education from Prince of Wales College and then became a farmer. On October 21, 1914, he married Perle Beecher Taylor, and together they had one son. John Howatt Bell
John Howatt Bell (December 13, 1846 – January 29, 1929) was a lawyer and politician who served as the 14th premier of Prince Edward Island. Bell was born in Cape Traverse, the son of Walter Bell and Elizabeth Howatt. He was educated at Prince of Wales College and at Albert College in Belleville. After studying law, he was called to the Ontario bar in 1874 and set up practice in Ottawa, Ontario. He moved to Manitoba, was called to the bar there and set up practice in Emerson. In 1882, he married his first cousin, Helen, the daughter of Cornelius Howatt. He returned to Prince Edward Island, was called to the bar, and set up practice in Summerside. Bell entered politics in 1886 when he was elected to the province's legislative assembly as a Liberal. Albert Charles Saunders
Albert Charles Saunders (October 12, 1874 – October 18, 1943) was a Canadian politician and jurist from Prince Edward Island. Saunders served as mayor of Summerside for four terms. He was first elected to the provincial legislature in 1919 and became leader of the opposition Liberal Party in 1923. He led the Liberals to victory in the 1927 election by supporting the continuation of total prohibition against the Conservative government's proposals to ease the temperance measure. The Saunders government revised the curriculum of the public school system, raised the salaries of teachers and improved the island's roads. Charles Dalton (June 9, 1850 – December 9, 1933) was a Canadian businessman, politician and philanthropist on Prince Edward Island. Biography Charles Dalton was born at Tignish, Prince Edward Island, the son of Patrick Dalton and Margaret McCarthy. He first worked as a farmer and then a druggist. He married Anne Gavin in 1874. Dalton earned his fortune through silver fox breeding, in the process making the island the centre of the world's trade in the fur-bearing animal.
