32nd Filmfare Awards
The 32nd Filmfare Awards were held in 1985. ''Sharaabi'' led the ceremony with 11 nominations, followed by ''Aaj Ki Awaaz'' and ''Saaransh'' with 7 nominations and ''Sohni Mahiwal'' and ''Sparsh'' with 5 nominations each. ''Saaransh'', ''Sohni Mahiwal'' and ''Sparsh'' won 3 awards each, thus becoming the most-awarded films at the ceremony. This year, the trend backed away from Parallel Cinema as more commercial films won awards. Shabana Azmi received dual nominations for Best Actress for her performances in ''Bhavna'' and ''Sparsh'', winning for the former. Sparsh (film)
''Sparsh'' (English: ''Touch'') is a 1980 Indian Hindi feature film directed by Sai Paranjpye. It stars Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi playing the characters of a visually impaired principal and a sighted teacher in a school for the blind, where they fall in love though soon their complexes tag along and they struggle to get past them to reconnect with the "touch" of love. The film remains most memorable for the subtle acting of its leads, plus the handling of the issue of relationships with the visually disabled, revealing the emotional and perception divide between the worlds of the "blind" and the "sighted", epitomized by the characters. The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi. However, the film's release was delayed by almost 4 years. Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro
''Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro'' () is a 1983 Indian Hindi-language satirical black comedy film directed by Kundan Shah and produced by NFDC. It is a dark satire on the rampant corruption in Indian politics, bureaucracy, news media and business, and stars an ensemble cast including Naseeruddin Shah, Ravi Baswani, Om Puri, Pankaj Kapur, Satish Shah, Satish Kaushik, Bhakti Barve and Neena Gupta. Rohini Hattangadi (''née'' Oak; born 11 April 1955) is an Indian actress, known for her work in Hindi, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Kannada, and Gujarati films, and Marathi soap operas and theatre. Naseeruddin Shah (born 20 July 1950) is an Indian actor. He is notable in Indian parallel cinema. He has also starred in international productions. He has won numerous awards in his career, including three National Film Awards, three Filmfare Awards and the Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the Venice Film Festival. ''Mashaal'' () is a 1984 Bollywood action film. Produced and directed by Yash Chopra, it starred Dilip Kumar, Waheeda Rehman, Anil Kapoor and Rati Agnihotri.
