2nd Chance Motorsports
2nd Chance Motorsports was a NASCAR team owned by Rick Russell. It ran the No. 79 Ford Mustang in the Nationwide Series. History The team's brief history started when Rick Russell formed his race team in the month of September. After a failed partnership with Specialty Racing, Russell formed his own team. Tim Andrews debuted the team's No. 79 at the fall Dover race with his father Paul Andrews as crew chief. The team made the final five races of the season, but started and parked all of them. Tim moved to Fleur-de-lis Motorsports, and Jennifer Jo Cobb agreed to run the first five races of 2011. However, due to a disagreement between Jo Cobb and Russell over to start and park the 79 at Bristol, and a contract dispute, she and most of the team left 10 minutes before the start of the race and the driver was replaced by Chris Lawson. The NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) is a stock car racing series organized by NASCAR. It is promoted as NASCAR's second-tier circuit to the organization's top level Cup Series. Scotts EZ Seed 300
The Cheddar's 300 was a NASCAR Xfinity Series stock car race at Bristol Motor Speedway, the first of two Bristol races on the schedule. The first Busch Series race at Bristol was 150 laps, and was won by Phil Parsons in 1982. The race was not held in 1984. The race increased in length several times since then: it was lengthened to 200 laps in 1985, 250 laps in 1990, and 300 laps in 2006. In 2016, the race format was changed to include two 50-lap heat races and a 200-lap feature for a total of 300 laps, as part of the Xfinity Dash 4 Cash program. In 2017 that format did not return and instead reverted to its 300-lap distance with the new stage format. Stages 1 and 2 were 85 laps each, with stage 3 being the final 130 laps. Start And Park
Start and park is a term used in auto racing, particularly in NASCAR-sanctioned races, to describe the practice of racing teams starting races but pulling the car off the track after just a few laps in order to collect prize money while avoiding expenses such as replacement tires, engine wear and tear, and hiring a pit crew. The practice has existed due to the relatively high purse for even a back-of-the-pack finish, as well as the high costs of fielding a car for an entire race. While start-and-park entries occasionally act as "field fillers" (a term typically used outside of NASCAR when a small number of teams show up to a racetrack), the practice is criticized in instances when they take spots away from teams intending to run the full race. In some cases, a team will use a start-and-park car to help fund another competitive car in the same or a different series. Jennifer Jo Cobb (born June 12, 1973) is an American professional stock car racing driver and team owner. She competes part-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 10 Chevrolet Silverado for her own team, Jennifer Jo Cobb Racing. She has also competed in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, ARCA Menards Series, and the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series in the past. Racing career She started racing in 1991 at Lakeside Speedway. Specialty Racing, LLC was an auto racing team that competed in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Based in Statesville, North Carolina, it was owned by Doug Taylor and Charles Shoffner. In 2011, Specialty Racing planned to field the No. 61 Ford Mustang, but sponsorship was not found, and the team closed.
