2nd Army Corps (France)
The 2nd Army Corps (french: 2 Corps d'Armée) was first formed before World War I. During World War II it fought in the Campaign for France in 1940 and during the 1944–45 campaigns in southern France, the Vosges Mountains, Alsace, and southwestern Germany. It was active under the First Army for many years after World War II. Second Army Corps (Spanish–American War)
The Second Army Corps was a unit of the United States Army raised for the Spanish–American War. A defining event of the Spanish–American War was the typhoid fever epidemic of July to November 1898. The Army consequently undertook a series of mass-retreats and attempted evasions. The Typhoid Board concluded that only one of the five army corps stricken with epidemic typhoid succeeded in suppressing the disease actively, the 2nd Army Corps. In the wake of two fruitless relocations and months of casualties, commanders finally managed to impose an effective latrine-policy. A three-part strategy of draconian defecation-management, mass-disinfection, and flight received the Typhoid Board's imprimatur as the principal, recommended method for suppressing existing epidemics. II Corps (South Korea) is a field corps of the Republic of Korea Army and it was active in the Korean War. It is also known as Double Dragons. History II Corps was created July 24, 1950, just before the Battle of Pusan Perimeter and it consisted of the 1st Division and 6th Infantry Division. During the battle of the Pusan Perimeter (July–September, 1950), its headquarters was at Hamch’ang. Currently, its headquarters is located at the city of Chuncheon. Korean War In the 1950s, the United Nations worked to defeat the Korean People's Army (KPA). This army was later reinforced by the People's Volunteer Army. The Polish II Corps ( pl, Drugi Korpus Wojska Polskiego), 1943–1947, was a major tactical and operational unit of the Polish Armed Forces in the West during World War II. The II Corps, also known as II Strike Corps is a corps of Pakistan Army stationed in Multan, Punjab Province of Pakistan. The corps was active in Pakistan's theatre in War on Terror where its administrative divisions and brigades led numerous operations in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan.
