2 AM Club
The 2 AM Club is a bar in Mill Valley, California. The bar was the location for the cover photo of the Huey Lewis and the News' album ''Sports''; Lewis himself attended school in Mill Valley. It is known locally as "The Deuce". The bar was opened by Bill Brown on the corner of Miller and Montford, and was called The Brown Jug. Prohibition forced its closure in 1921. It was reopened in 1933, with the same name, by Joe Hornsby. It became known as the 2 A.M. Club, because it was outside the city limits and so was allowed to stay open until 2am, whereas bars within the city of Mill Valley had to close by 10pm. It was officially renamed as the 2 A.M. Club in 1940. Huey Lewis And The News
Huey Lewis and the News are an American rock band based in San Francisco, California. They had a run of hit singles during the 1980s and early 1990s, eventually achieving 19 top ten singles across the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, Adult Contemporary, and Mainstream Rock charts. ''Sports'' is the third album by American rock band Huey Lewis and the News, released on September 15, 1983 by Chrysalis Records. It reached No. 1 on the ''Billboard'' 200 on June 29, 1984, and ultimately charted for 160 weeks. ''Sports'' was ranked No. 2 on the '' Billboard'' year-end album chart for 1984 and spawned four top-ten hits on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, with " Heart and Soul" and "The Heart of Rock & Roll" earning Grammy Award nominations. 2AM Club is an American band consisting of vocalists Marc E. Bassy and Tyler Cordy, guitarist Matt Reagan, keyboard player Dave Dalton, and bassist 'Sauce' Matt Warshauer. Ex- drummer Ian O'Neill left the band in June 2011 for "new opportunities" as a drummer for Gavin Degraw. As of late 2012 Patrick Jarrett, professional drummer, has been touring and playing venues with the band. The band came together in Los Angeles in 2007, after Tyler and Dave who are childhood friends and Marc and Reagan who are also childhood friends met Sauce and later Ian. 2AM Club brings a diverse array of genres, including hip-hop, rock, electro, rap, and alternative.
