2C-H
2C-H (2,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine) is a lesser-known substituted phenethylamine of the 2C family. History 2C-H was first synthesized in 1932 by Johannes S. Buck. Use 2C-H is used as a precursor in the synthesis of other substituted phenethylamines such as 2C-B, 2C-I, and 2C-N. 2C-H has been found in trace amounts by the DEA's south central laboratory in tablets that were suspected of containing MDMA. Pharmacology There is no record of 2C-H trials in humans, as it would likely be destroyed by monoamine oxidase enzymes before causing any significant psychoactive effects. 2C-B (4-Bromo-2,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine) is a psychedelic drug of the 2C family. It was first synthesized by Alexander Shulgin in 1974. In Shulgin's book '' PiHKAL'', the dosage range is listed as 12–24 mg. As a recreational drug, 2C-B is sold as a white powder sometimes pressed in tablets or gel caps. Chemistry The full name of the chemical is 2-(2,5-dimethoxy-4-nitrophenyl)ethanamine. Salts of 2C-N have a bright yellow to orange color due to the presence of the nitro group, unlike all other members of the 2C family in which the salts are white.
