29th European Film Awards
The 29th European Film Awards were presented on 10 December 2016 in Wrocław, Poland. The ceremony is one of a number of events to take place in Wrocław as the city is a 2016 European Capital of Culture, along with San Sebastián. The nominations and winners were selected by more than 2,500 members of the European Film Academy. Ceremony The ceremony focused on a political message against ongoing nationalism and euroscepticism. The European Film Academy also remarked on Ukrainian filmmaker Oleh Sentsov, who is imprisoned in Russia. National Forum Of Music
The National Forum of Music (''Narodowe Forum Muzyki'') is a music venue located in Wrocław, Poland. It was completed in 2015 and houses a large concert hall with 1800 seats and three chamber halls (from 250–450 seats) and is home to many major ensembles and festivals in Wrocław. The postmodern building of the National Forum of Music (NFM) was designed by APA Kuryłowicz & Associates. It is one of the largest and most modern music venues in Poland. History The construction of the venue started in 2009 and was completed in 2015. It covers the area of 48,500 square metres and is situated in the Liberty Square in the city centre near the historic Wrocław Opera. The European Film Awards (or European Film Academy Awards) have been presented annually since 1988 by the European Film Academy to recognize excellence in European cinematic achievements. The awards are given in 19 categories, of which the most important is the ''Best Film''. They are restricted to European cinema and European producers, directors, and actors. Latvijas Televīzija (''Latvian Television'', LTV) is the state-owned public service television broadcaster in Latvia.
