27th National Hockey League All-Star Game
The 27th National Hockey League All-Star Game was held in the Chicago Stadium in Chicago, home of the Chicago Black Hawks, on January 29, 1974. It was the second time that the All-Star Game was held in Chicago. The East Division All-Stars defeated the West Division All-Stars 5–4. Garry Unger was named the game's most valuable player. Team lineups Five East Division players selected for the game withdrew at the last minute. Bobby Orr was injured, Serge Savard was ordered to rest, Guy Lapointe was injured, Jacques Lemaire was injured, and Gilbert Perreault was injured. Red Berenson, Jocelyn Guevremont, Jim McKenny, Henri Richard and Larry Robinson were named as replacements. Chicago Stadium was an indoor arena in Chicago, Illinois, that opened in 1929, closed in 1994 and was demolished in 1995. Philip Anthony Esposito ( , ; born February 20, 1942) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player, coach and executive, and current broadcaster for the Tampa Bay Lightning. A member of the Hockey Hall of Fame, he played 18 seasons in the National Hockey League for the Chicago Black Hawks, Boston Bruins, and New York Rangers, winning two Stanley Cups with Boston. Rick Martin
Richard Lionel Martin (; ; July 26, 1951March 13, 2011) was a Canadian professional ice hockey winger who played in the NHL with the Buffalo Sabres and Los Angeles Kings for 11 seasons between 1971 and 1982. He was most famous for playing on the Sabres' French Connection line with Gilbert Perreault and Rene Robert. Dallas Smith (ice Hockey)
Dallas Earl Smith (born October 10, 1941) is a Canadian former ice hockey defenceman who played fifteen seasons for the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers of the National Hockey League between 1960 and 1978. With the Bruins Smith won the Stanley Cup in 1970 and 1972. Internationally he played for the Canadian national team at the 1977 World Championships. Playing career Signed as a teenager by the Bruins, after a junior career with their Estevan Bruins farm team, Smith made his debut with Boston in 1960. Douglas Bradford "Brad" Park (born July 6, 1948) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. A defenceman, Park played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the New York Rangers, Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings.
