25th Guldbagge Awards
The 25th Guldbagge Awards ceremony, presented by the Swedish Film Institute, honored the best Swedish films of 1989, and took place on 5 February 1990. Stig Håkan Larsson is a Swedish writer of novels, dramas, poetry, political essays and short stories, film writer, director and actor. Biography Larsson was born on 20 July 1955, in Skellefteå, Västerbottens län. He grew up in Umeå and currently lives in Stockholm. In the late 1970, his namesake and friend, Stieg Larsson, ne Stig, the well-known author of the Millennium series, changed slightly the spelling of his first name to avoid confusion with Stig, by then a well-known writer. The Guldbagge Awards ( sv, Guldbaggen, en, Gold Scarabaeidae, scarab) is an official and annual Sweden, Swedish film awards ceremony honoring achievements in the Swedish film industry. Winners are awarded a statuette depicting a Cetonia aurata, rose chafer, better known by the name Guldbaggen. The awards, first presented in 1964 at the Grand Hôtel (Stockholm), Grand Hôtel in Stockholm, are overseen by the Swedish Film Institute. It is described as the Swedish equivalent of the Academy Awards. Per Åhlin
Per Johan Axel Åhlin (born 7 August 1931) is a Swedish artist and director of animated films. He is known for his collaborations with the comedy duo Hasse & Tage and for his own projects such as the feature film ''The Journey to Melonia''. Career Åhlin started his career as an artist for the Hasse & Tage production ''Svenska bilder'' from 1964. After that he has worked on several other Hasse & Tage films, including the largely animated ''Out of an Old Man's Head'' from 1968, and ''The Adventures of Picasso'' from 1978, where he provided and animated Picasso's paintings. Stefan Jarl (born 18 March 1941) is a Swedish film director best known for his documentaries. Together with Jan Lindqvist he made the ''Mods Trilogy'', three films which follow a group of alienated people in Stockholm from the 1960s to the 1990s, '' They Call Us Misfits'' (1968), '' A Respectable Life'' (1979) and ''The Social Heritage'' (1993). Chris Menges BSC, ASC (born 15 September 1940) is a British cinematographer and film director. He is a member of both the American and British Societies of Cinematographers. Life and career Menges was born in Kington, Herefordshire, the son of the composer and conductor Herbert Menges.
