Taipei Arena
The Taipei Arena () is a multi-purpose stadium located in Songshan, Taipei, Taiwan, and it is operated by the Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC). Built in 2005, the large multi-purpose stadium can accommodate major international sport events such as ice skating, ice hockey, gymnastics, handball, basketball, tennis, badminton, table tennis, indoor soccer, boxing, judo, karate, taekwondo and wrestling. Building It was designed by Archasia, an architectural firm based in Taipei, and Populous, a Kansas City, Missouri, design and architectural firm specializing in sports venues. It is located at the site of the former Taipei Municipal Baseball Stadium (built in 1958, opened 1959, demolished 2000). The arena was opened on 1 December 2005. The main arena has an adjustable floor space: its minimum floor space is 60m × 30m, and can be extended to 80m × 40m. Denise Ho
Denise Ho Wan-see (born 10 May 1977) is a Hong Kong-based Cantopop singer and actress. She is also a pro-democracy and Hong Kong human rights activist. In 2012, Ho came out as lesbian, the first mainstream Cantonese singer to do so. In 2014, Ho was blacklisted by the Chinese government and by the luxury brand Lancome for her participation in the Umbrella Movement in Hong Kong. Ho is a Canadian citizen. On 28 December 2021, Ho was arrested by the Hong Kong police under the joint charges of both production and distribution of seditious materials. Early life and education Ho was born in Hong Kong. Fan You-chen (; Amis: 林納斯 Lín Nàsī; born 3 November 1978), better known as Van Fan or Fan Yi-chen (), is a Taiwanese singer and actor with ancestry from the Amis aborigine tribe. He is best known for '' Cape No. 7'', the second top-selling film in Taiwanese cinematic history. Fan made his debut in 2002 with the Chinese version theme song ''I Believe'' to the South Korean film '' My Sassy Girl''. William Wei
Wei Li-an (; born 5 March 1987), known professionally as WeiBird, is a Taiwanese Mandopop and folk-rock singer-songwriter. He has released six studio albums, one live album and two EPs. Wei won the Golden Melody Award for Best New Singer in 2011 and Best Composer in 2015. Wei gained media attention as the winner of the first season of the reality television singing competition ''Happy Sunday'' in 2007. Crowd Lu
Crowd Lu (; born 15 July 1985) is a Taiwanese singer, songwriter and actor. He is also nicknamed "Vitas Lu" after making a parody of the song Opera No. 2 by the Russian singer Vitas, having the ability to hit the same high notes. Due to a serious car accident in his first year at Tamkang University, Lu learned to play guitar during his hospitalization. The following year, Lu won first prize for musical composition and solo performance and proceeded to once again take the gold in composition and become the crowd favorite at National Chengchi University. Sodagreen
Sodagreen (; stylized as sodagreen) is a Taiwanese indie band formed in 2001. Its members have been unchanged since 2003. Sodagreen emerged in the Taiwanese indie music scene after receiving the Grand Jury Award in the Hohaiyan Gongliau Rock Festival in 2004, after which it signed a contract with Willlin Music. The band is the first indie band to hold a concert in the Taipei Arena. History Sodagreen was named by Shih, the band's leader at the time, and Wu, the lead vocalist. The band was originally named Soda (蘇打), but Shih preferred a name with three-syllable. Wu then affixed the word ''green'' (綠), his favourite colour, behind Soda, completing the portmanteau. El-A-Kru is an Antiguan soca band. The name derives from "Little Antigua Crew". Fire Ex. () is a punk rock band from Kaohsiung, Taiwan, founded in 2000, which sings in both Taiwanese Hokkien and Mandarin Chinese. The group consists of Sam (vocals), Orio (guitar), Pipi (bass), and KG (drums). The band is known for their social activism supporting Taiwanese independence and same-sex marriage. During the Sunflower Student Movement in 2014, student activists occupying the Legislative Yuan frequently played their song "Goodnight, Taiwan" and asked them to write a new song for the movement.
