25th FAMAS Awards
The 24th Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards Night was held in 1977. This was for the outstanding achievements in films in 1976. A Nora Aunor film, ''Minsa'y isang gamu-gamo'' from Premiere Productions, was the most nominated with eight nominations and the most awarded with five wins including FAMAS Award for Best Picture and the Best Director for Lupita Aquino-Kashiwahara. However, Aunor was not nominated for this film but she did win for another film, ''Tatlong taong walang Diyos'', her first award from FAMAS after five nominations. Christopher de Leon won his second best actor trophy from FAMAS making it only the second time a husband and wife had won the major acting awards in FAMAS history. The Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards (also known as the FAMAS Awards) are the annual honors given by the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS), an organization composed of award-winning writers and movie columnists, for achievements in Philippine cinema for a calendar year. Members of the academy including avid movie viewers, fans or enthusiasts cast their votes on who should win the statuettes in the different categories they were nominated. Established in 1952, it is the oldest existing film industry award-giving body in the Philippines (as of 2013) and one of the oldest in Asia. Johnny Delgado
Juan Marasigan Feleo (February 28, 1948 – November 19, 2009), better known as Johnny Delgado, was a Filipino television and movie actor, comedian, and writer. He is best known for his television work on the TV gag show ''Goin' Bananas''. Other roles include the films '' Kakabakaba Ka Ba?'' and ''Tanging Yaman''. The latter won him the FAMAS Award and the Metro Manila Film Festival Award for Best Actor in 2000. Personal life He was born as Juan Marasigan Feleo on February 29, 1948 in Manila. He is the son of Ben Feleo, a film director, and Victorina Marasigan, an educator. Johnny had his formal education at Colegio de San Juan de Letran. He was the husband of actress-director Laurice Guillen and the father of actresses Anna Feleo and Ina Feleo. Dick Israel
Ricardo Vizcarra Michaca (10 December 1947 – 11 October 2016), known by his stage name Dick Israel, was a Filipino character actor who played mostly villain and sidekick roles in many Filipino movies. He later branched out in television playing father and supporting roles. On 11 October 2016, Israel suffered blood vomiting, and later died in his home, according to actress Vivian Velez, a member of the Damay Kamay Foundation. He was 68. His wife, Marilyn Michacha, died less than week later due to unrelated circumstances. Before his death, Israel was seeking help after his residence in Bagong Barrio, Caloocan was damaged in a fire in July of the same year. Ganito (Tagalog "like this") is a Tagalog language song, and the second single off Sarah Geronimo's '' This 15 Me'' album, the song was written by Nica del Rosario, the songsmith behind Geronimo's chart-topping hits including the previous single " Sandata". It was released digitally on April 1, 2018 under Viva Records. Ganito instantly topped iTunes chart and also landed on Spotify Philippines Viral 50. Background Songwriter Nica del Rosario shared via Twitter that Sarah wrote the words in a whole paper, back and front, singled spaced to be used for the song. It was originally about "this is how you lose her", Sarah thought that the idea was sad and negative, so she collaborates to change the theme from "this is how you lose her" to "this is how you don't." Leopoldo Salcedo
Leopoldo Salcedo (March 12, 1912 – June 11, 1998) was a Filipino film actor dubbed as "The Great Profile" who specialized in portraying dramatic heroes. Early life Salcedo was born in Cavite. His father was of Spanish descent whose family immigrated in the Philippines years prior. His mother was a Filipina. In his youth, he had entered the seminary with aspirations towards priesthood, but he left after a year. Instead, he joined the bodabil troupe of Lou Borromeo in 1929. By 1934, Salcedo had broken into films, starring in José Nepomuceno's ''Sawing Palad''. He was playing leading roles by the late 1930s, and signed up with the newly formed LVN studio. Among his most prominent roles during this period was as Macario Sakay, in Lamberto Avellana's debut film ''Sakay'' (1939). Hilda Koronel (born Susan Reid; January 17, 1957) is a MMFF, FAMAS, Luna and Urian award-winning Filipino actress. Born to a Filipino mother and an American father who was a serviceman in Clark Air Base, she has starred in around 45 films, many of which are critically acclaimed, since 1970.
