''25'' is a compilation album by American rock band Blues Traveler celebrating their 25th anniversary. It was released on March 6, 2012. The album's first disc is a greatest hits retrospective and the second contains a mix of rarities, including b-sides, a demo, unreleased studio tracks, and a remix of " Run-around". Blues Traveler
Blues Traveler (formerly known as "The Establishment" or "The Black Cat Jam" or "The Establishment Blues Band") is an American rock band that formed in Princeton, New Jersey in 1987. They are known for extensive use of segues in live performances, and were considered a key part of the re-emerging jam band scene of the 1990s, spearheading the H.O.R.D.E. touring music festival. Currently, the group comprises singer and harmonica player John Popper, guitarist Chan Kinchla, drummer Brendan Hill, bassist Tad Kinchla, and keyboardist Ben Wilson. Tad Kinchla and Ben Wilson joined the band following the death of original bassist Bobby Sheehan in 1999. Decisions Of The Sky
''Decisions of the Sky: A Traveler's Tale of Sun and Storm'' is a collection of four studio tracks by Blues Traveler. The songs were released online as a free digital EP album in the fall of 2000. Background The EP was the first official release from the band after the death of bassist Bobby Sheehan and the subsequent addition of two new members. Prior to Sheehan's death, the band was planning to release a concept album called ''The Sun, The Storm and the Traveler''. That album was abandoned and ''Decisions of the Sky'' was released in its place. The songs outline the story which was intended for the full-length album. In it, a young man goes to war while struggling with an internal emotional conflict over his relationship with a girl. The title is taken from the song "Decision of the Skies" (released on the Blues Traveler album ''Bridge'') which was intended for the original concept album. Blues is a music genre and musical form which originated in the Deep South of the United States around the 1860s. Blues incorporated spirituals, work songs, field hollers, shouts, chants, and rhymed simple narrative ballads from the African-American culture. Arnie Lawrence
Arnold Lawrence Finkelstein (July 10, 1938 in Brooklyn, New York – April 22, 2005 in Jerusalem, Israel) was an American jazz saxophonist. Career Lawrence studied clarinet in his youth before switching to saxophone. He played from age 12 in clubs in the Catskills, and by age 17 was performing at Birdland (jazz club), Birdland, at one point working a double bill with John Coltrane. He played with Charles Mingus, Thad Jones, Maynard Ferguson, Clark Terry and Duke Pearson but did not make his first recordings until 1966, playing on Chico Hamilton's ''The Dealer (album), The Dealer''. He worked for several years with Hamilton, and became a soloist on ''The Tonight Show'' from 1967 to 1972. His first records as a leader appeared in 1968. In the early 1970s Lawrence played with Willie Bobo, then joined Blood, Sweat & Tears in 1974. Warren Haynes (born April 6, 1960) is an American musician, singer and songwriter. He is best known for his work as longtime guitarist with the Allman Brothers Band and as founding member of the jam band Gov't Mule. Early in his career he was a guitarist for David Allan Coe and The Dickey Betts Band. Haynes also is known for his associations with the surviving members of the Grateful Dead, including touring with Phil Lesh and Friends and the Dead. Sublime was an American reggae rock and ska punk band from Long Beach, California, formed in 1988. The band's line-up, consistent throughout its duration, consisted of Bradley Nowell (vocals and guitar), Eric Wilson (bass), and Bud Gaugh (drums). Blues rock is a fusion music genre that combines elements of blues and rock music.
