The 24th Senate of Puerto Rico was the upper house of the 16th Legislative Assembly of Puerto Rico that met from January 2, 2009, to January 1, 2013. All members were elected in the General Elections of 2008. The Senate had a majority of members from the New Progressive Party (PNP). Thomas Rivera Schatz
Thomas Rivera Schatz (born June 10, 1966) is a Puerto Rican politician, legal advisor, attorney, and former prosecutor, who was the fourteenth and sixteenth President of the Senate of Puerto Rico. He is affiliated with New Progressive Party of Puerto Rico (abbr. PNP in Spanish) and the mainland Republican Party. On July 22, 2019, Rivera Schatz announced that he will take over as acting chair of the PNP following the resignation of Ricardo Rosselló due to the Telegramgate scandal. Early life and studies Rivera Schatz was born on June 10, 1966, in the Bronx Borough of New York City. He is the son of José A. The Puerto Rican Independence Party ( es, Partido Independentista Puertorriqueño, PIP) is a social-democratic political party in Puerto Rico that campaigns for the independence of Puerto Rico from the United States. José Emilio González Velázquez is a Puerto Rican people, Puerto Rican politician and Senator. He has been a member of the Senate of Puerto Rico since 2004. Early years and studies José Emilio González graduated from the University of Puerto Rico in 1974 with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. Arecibo
Arecibo (; ) is a city and municipality on the northern coast of Puerto Rico, on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, located north of Utuado and Ciales; east of Hatillo; and west of Barceloneta and Florida. It is about west of San Juan, the capital city. Arecibo is the largest municipality in Puerto Rico by area, and it is the core city of the Arecibo Metropolitan Statistical Area and part of the greater San Juan Combined Statistical Area. Liza Fernández Rodríguez (born July 23, 1973) is a Puerto Rican attorney and politician affiliated with the New Progressive Party (PNP).
