24th FAMAS Awards
The 24th Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards Night was held in 1976. This is for the outstanding achievements in Filipino film for 1975. '' Maynila.. Sa Kuko ng Liwanag'' of Cinema Artist was the most nominated with eleven (11) nominations and the most awarded with 9 wins including FAMAS Award for Best Picture and the Best Director for Lino Brocka. This is the second year in a row for Brocka to win both Best Director and his film as Best Picture. This year, FAMAS elevated five (5) individuals to Hall of Famer Status for winning a specific award 5 times or more. Filipino Academy Of Movie Arts And Sciences Award
The Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards (also known as the FAMAS Awards) are the annual honors given by the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS), an organization composed of award-winning writers and movie columnists, for achievements in Philippine cinema for a calendar year. Members of the academy including avid movie viewers, fans or enthusiasts cast their votes on who should win the statuettes in the different categories they were nominated. Established in 1952, it is the oldest existing film industry award-giving body in the Philippines (as of 2013) and one of the oldest in Asia. George Estregan
Jesús Jorge Ejército (; July 10, 1939 – August 8, 1988), better known as George Estregan or George Estregan Sr., was a Filipino ''mestizo'' film actor. Sigrid Sophia Agatha de Torres von Giese, better known by her screen name Paraluman (December 14, 1923 – April 27, 2009), was an award-winning Filipina German actress. Hilda Koronel
Hilda Koronel (born Susan Reid; January 17, 1957) is a MMFF, FAMAS, Luna and Urian award-winning Filipino actress. Born to a Filipino mother and an American father who was a serviceman in Clark Air Base, she has starred in around 45 films, many of which are critically acclaimed, since 1970. She started her showbiz career in the early 70s as a Lea Productions' contract star and was paired with Ed Finlan, Walter Navarro, Tirso Cruz, III and Jay Ilagan which eventually became her husband.
