23rd Awit Awards
The 23rd Awit Awards were held on September 30, 2010 at the SM Mall of Asia in Bay City, Pasay. They honored achievements in the Philippine music industry for the year 2009. Noel Cabangon, Ito Rapadas and Gary Valenciano received the most nominations with nine. They were followed by Jonathan Manalo and Martin Nievera with seven. The People's Choice Awards was renamed Music Uplate Live Texters' Choice Poll just for this year as sponsored by the television show which its namesake. Before the awards night, the Music Expo was held in September 28 to 29, which includes music seminars and performances. The pre-show was hosted by radio jocks, Nicole Hyala and Chris Tsuper, while the main ceremony was hosted by Tutti Caringal, Yeng Constantino and Karylle. SM Mall Of Asia
SM Mall of Asia, also abbreviated as SM MoA, or simply Mall of Asia or MoA, is a large shopping mall in the Philippines, located at Bay City, Pasay, Philippines, within the SM Central Business Park, a reclaimed area within Manila Bay, and the southern end of Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA). Franco (band)
Franco is a rock band from the Philippines, formed in 2008. The band had its beginnings as a supergroup with members from iconic Filipino bands, consisting of Franco Reyes (InYo) on vocals, Gabby Alipe (Urbandub) on guitar, 8 Toleran ( Queso) on guitar, Buwi Meneses (Parokya ni Edgar) on bass guitar, and JanJan Mendoza (Urbandub) on drums. This original lineup disbanded in mid-2012, and regrouped with frontman Franco Reyes backed by Paul Cañada on guitar, Dave Delfin on bass and Victor Guison on drums. History Franco started as a collaboration project between Alipe, Toleran, Meneses and Mendoza, who are prominent musicians in the Pinoy rock scene.
