Taipei City Arts Promotion Office
Taipei City Arts Promotion Office () is a cultural center in Songshan District, Taipei, Taiwan. History The founding preparation and planning stage of the cultural center began in April 1961. It was opened in January 1964 under the Department of Education of the Taipei City Government as the Taipei Municipal Social Education Hall (臺北市立社會教育館) at Chung-Shan Building in Taipei. In January 1967, the center borrowed the Ming-Lun Hall of Taipei Confucius Temple as their temporary location. In 1976, the center decided to construct its own place at the Municipal Park No. 5. The construction work commenced in March 1979 and was completed in June 1983. The center was officially reopened to the public on 22 October in the same year. In November 1999, the center was taken over by the Department of Cultural Affairs and its English name was changed to Taipei Cultural Center. Su Rui
Su Rui (; born 13 June 1952) is a Taiwanese singer. In 1968, Su Rui skipped class to participate in a singing competition and was selected, joining the Zero Chorus to sing Western pop songs, and began her singing career. Later, she joined the Action Choir, named Julie in English. In 1971, she graduated from high school and began to perform at the Qingquangang American Army Club (CCK) in Taichung with Yingying Huang and they became friends. In 1973, she became the first female singer in residence at the Taipei Hilton. She was recommended to perform at the Hilton Hotel in Hong Kong, singing in Hong Kong for 3 years. Before becoming a singer, Su Rui wanted to be a physical education teacher. At that time, she was good at track and field and basketball, so she hoped to be a teacher and teach students. Her song "The Same Moonlight" (; 1983) first propelled her from an unknown to a singing sensation in Taiwan overnight when it was released in 1983. She is also known for her hit "Any Em ... Ba Ge
Ba Ge (; 4 July 1954 – 16 February 2022) was a Taiwanese actor and television host. Career Ba Ge began his career as a child actor. Following his graduation from National Taiwan University of Arts, he continued acting and became a television host for Chinese Television System. Ba Ge won two consecutive Golden Bell Awards for best variety show host in 1986 and 1987, was taken off the air in 1988, and won a third Golden Bell Award in 1991. He died at Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, where he was being treated for pancreatic cancer, on 16 February 2022, at the age of 67. TTV Main Channel is the primary free-to-air terrestrial television channel of the Taiwan Television company and is the first television channel launched in the Republic of China (Taiwan).
