20 De Colección (Carlos Vives Album)
''20 De Colección'' is a compilation album by Colombian singer/musician Carlos Vives released on June 21, 1994. The collection was released as part of the Sony International 20 De Colección series. The album is one of many Vives "hits" collections that appeared shortly after the singer's breakthrough Clasicos de la Provincia, exposing fans unfamiliar with Vives's earlier work. Vives's previous pop/ballad albums No Podrás Escapar de Mí and Al Centro de la Ciudad ''Al Centro de la Ciudad'' is the third album released by Colombian singer/composer Carlos Vives, released on June 6, 1989. Vives was better known as a star of television soap operas at the time of its release. Songs such as "Aventurera" and "Te ..., which met with lukewarm reception, are both compiled here in their entirety, in original song order. Carlos Alberto Vives Restrepo (born 7 August 1961) is a Colombian singer, songwriter and actor. He is known for his interpretation of traditional music styles of Colombia such as vallenato, cumbia, champeta, bambuco and porro as well as genres such as Latin pop, reggaeton, dance pop and tropical music. Latin music (Portuguese and es, música latina) is a term used by the music industry as a catch-all category for various styles of music from Ibero-America (including Spain and Portugal) and the Latino United States inspired by Latin American, Spanish and Portuguese music genres, as well as music that is sung in either Spanish and/or Portuguese. ''No Podrás Escapar de Mí'' is the second album released by Colombian singer/composer Carlos Vives. It was released in 1987, Vives was best known as the star of soap operas at the time of its release. The album contains romantic ballads and Rock music sung in Spanish. Vives embraced Vallenato later in his career. Although the title track reached number 30 in the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks, the album was largely ignored by the public, and is a collector's item for fans. Description Released in 1987, "You can't escape me" is a record made near the end of the 1980's. Despite its characteristic hair that adorns the cover of the album, the music is very different from that of Vives did with ''Clásicos de la Provincia'' in 1993. Vallenato () or "Szlager" in Wayuu language (from the German "Schlager"), is a popular folk music genre from Colombia. It primarily comes from its Caribbean region. ''Vallenato'' literally means "born in the valley". The valley influencing this name is located between the '' Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta (St. Martha Snow Mountain Range)'' and the '' Serranía de Perijá (Periha Mountain Range)'' in north-east Colombia.
