202nd Independent Infantry Brigade (Home)
The 202nd Independent Infantry Brigade (Home) was a short-lived Home Defence formation of the British Army during the Second World War. Origin and Service The 202nd Independent Infantry Brigade (Home) was formed for service in the United Kingdom on 20 October 1940 by No 2 Infantry Training Group in the Northumbrian Area (later Northumberland County Division) of Home Forces.Joslen, p. 365.Collier, Map 20. It was commanded by Brigadier H. Pawle (Brigadier G.F. Gough from 20 May 1941), and comprised four newly raised infantry battalions from Northern England. Home brigades had a purely static coast defence role. The brigade's units had been dispersed to other brigades (in the Northumberland County Division and outside it) or for conversion to other roles by the time the brigade ceased to function operationally on 1 December. 202nd (2/1st Kent) Brigade
The 2nd Kent Brigade was a 2nd Line Territorial Force Brigade of the British Army in World War I. The brigade was formed as a duplicate of the Kent Brigade in October 1914 as part of the 2nd Home Counties Division. As the name suggests, the brigade recruited in Kent. In August 1915, in common with all Territorial Force brigades, it was numbered as 202nd (2/1st Kent) Brigade. 143rd Infantry Brigade (United Kingdom)
The 143rd Infantry Brigade was an infantry brigade of the British Army that saw active service in both the First and the Second World Wars. In the First World War the brigade served on both Western Front and later the Italian Front. During the Second World War the brigade fought in Belgium and France before being evacuated to England where it remained for the rest of the war and was finally disbanded in 1946. Raised again in the 1980s, this brigade disbanded under Army 2020 in November 2014. Initially raised as an infantry battalion of the Green Howards in 1940, it transferred to the Royal Artillery in 1942. The 103rd Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery, (103rd LAA Rgt) was an air defence unit of the British Army during World War II. Initially raised as an infantry battalion of the East Lancashire Regiment in 1940, it transferred to the Royal Artillery in 1941. It served in Northern England and Northern Ireland but saw no active service.
