2024 USL League One Season
The 2024 USL League One season is the sixth season of USL League One, a professional men's soccer league in the third tier of the United States league system. Twelve teams are participating in the 2024 season. Spokane Velocity FC entered as an expansion team. North Carolina FC, having defeated the Charlotte Independence in the 2023 final, left to rejoin the USL Championship. The regular season started on March 9. The 2024 season will also include a new in-season tournament, the USL Cup (known as the USL Jägermeister Cup for sponsorship reasons). The 2024 USL Cup will feature a group stage and knockout round to be played between April and September. USL League One
USL League One (USL1) is a professional men's soccer league in the United States that had its inaugural season in 2019. The Division III league is operated by United Soccer League, the same group that operates the Division II USL Championship and other leagues. As of 2023, the league has 12 teams who play 30 regular season games, followed by playoffs. History The USL Championship was granted second division sanctioning by the United States Soccer Federation in January 2017, leaving the third tier of American soccer unoccupied. From 1996 to 2009, the United Soccer League operated leagues at the lower divisions under various names, including the USL Second Division in the third tier. KXLY-TV (channel 4) is a television station in Spokane, Washington, United States, affiliated with ABC and owned by Morgan Murphy Media. Its studios are located on West Boone Avenue in Spokane, and its transmitter is located on Mount Spokane. Mike Jeffries (soccer)
Michael Jeffries (born May 20, 1962) is an American soccer coach and former player who is currently the head coach of Charlotte Independence in USL League One. The 1983 Hermann Trophy winner, he played professionally in the North American Soccer League and Major Indoor Soccer League, earning three caps with the U.S. national team. Playing career College Jeffries attended Duke University, where he played on the men’s soccer team from 1980 to 1983. Jeffries was selected to represent the United States at the 1981 Maccabiah Games in Israel. In 1982, Duke went to the NCAA championship before falling to Indiana University in eight overtimes. In 1983, Jeffries was a first-team All-American and the 1983 Hermann Trophy winner as the outstanding collegiate player of the year. American Legion Memorial Stadium is a 10,500-seat stadium located on 7th Street in the Elizabeth community of Charlotte, North Carolina. It is located on a complex with the Grady Cole Center. Jermaine Junior Jones (born November 3, 1981) is an American former professional soccer player who played as a defensive midfielder. Born in Germany to an American father and German mother, he came up through the German club system and represented Germany at the U21 and senior level. However, he was not a regular in the team. South Georgia Tormenta FC is an American soccer organization based in Statesboro, Georgia, United States.
