2024 Tour Colombia
The 2024 Tour Colombia was a road cycling stage race that took place between 6 and 11 February 2024 starting in the city of Paipa and ending in Bogotá. The race is rated as a category 2.1 event on the 2024 UCI America Tour calendar, and was the 4th edition of the Tour Colombia. Teams Three UCI WorldTeams, two UCI ProTeams, fourteen UCI Continental teams and five national teams make up the 24 teams that participated in the race. 2024 UCI America Tour
The 2024 UCI America Tour is the 20th season of the UCI America Tour. The season began on 17 November 2023 with the Vuelta Ciclista Internacional a Guatemala and will end on 8 October 2024. The points leader, based on the cumulative results of previous races, wore the UCI America Tour cycling jersey. Throughout the season, points were awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determined how many points were awarded to the top finishers, the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points were awarded. Santa Rosa De Viterbo, Boyacá
Santa Rosa de Viterbo is a town and municipality in Boyacá Department, Colombia, part of the Tundama Province, a subregion of Boyacá. Viterbite, not a mineral but a mixture of allophane and wavellite, occurs in and was named after this municipality. History Santa Rosa de Viterbo was founded by the Spanish in 1689. Three priests petitioned the Archbishop of Santa Fe for resources to found the parish of Santa Rosa de Viterbo. A mayor was appointed in 1690; the first being José de los Reyes. The "Aerolito" In the year 1810, a meteorite fell in Santa Rosa, and it was discovered by a farmer of the town. The mayor decided to place it in the middle of the town, in front of the church. Fernando Gaviria
Fernando Gaviria Rendón (born 19 August 1994) is a Colombian professional road and track racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He is well known as a sprinter. Riding for the Colombian national cycling team, Gaviria came to international attention at the 2015 Tour de San Luis, where he beat former world champion Mark Cavendish in two sprint finishes. His first major Grand Tour wins came at the 2017 Giro d'Italia. He is the brother of track cyclist Juliana Gaviria. His nickname is "Quetzal splendente", from the brightful and colourful South American bird Quetzal. Duitama
Duitama () is a city and municipality in the department of Boyacá. It is the capital of the Tundama Province. Duitama is located northeast of Bogotá, the capital city of Colombia and northeast of Tunja, the capital Boyacá.
