2024 PDC World Darts Championship
The 2024 PDC World Darts Championship (known as the 2024 Paddy Power World Darts Championship) is a professional darts event that will take place at Alexandra Palace in London, England, from 15 December 2023 to 3 January 2024. It is the 31st World Darts Championship to be organised by the Professional Darts Corporation since it separated from the now-defunct British Darts Organisation. Overview Michael Smith is the defending champion after defeating Michael van Gerwen 7–4 in the 2023 final. Prize money The prize money for the tournament will remain at £2.5 million in total for the sixth year in a row. Qualification 96 players will compete in the championship, with the thirty-two highest ranked players on the PDC Order of Merit being seeded to the second round, and the next thirty-two highest ranked players from the 2023 PDC Pro Tour Order of Merit and thirty-two players from the various qualifiers going into the first round. Alexandra Palace
Alexandra Palace is a Grade II listed entertainment and sports venue in London, situated between Wood Green and Muswell Hill in the London Borough of Haringey. It is built on the site of Tottenham Wood and the later Tottenham Wood Farm. Originally built by John Johnson and Alfred Meeson, it opened in 1873 but following a fire two weeks after its opening, was rebuilt by Johnson. Intended as "The People's Palace" and often referred to as "Ally Pally", its purpose was to serve as a public centre of recreation, education and entertainment; North London's counterpart to the Crystal Palace in South London. The 2023 Cazoo Players Championship Finals was the fifteenth edition of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) darts tournament, which sees the top 64 players from the 2023 PDC Players Championship series taking part. The tournament took place from 24 to 26 November 2023 at the Butlin's Resort, Minehead. Michael van Gerwen was the defending champion after defeating Rob Cross 11–6 in the 2022 final to win the title for the seventh time.
