2024 Indoor Football League Season
The 2024 Indoor Football League season will be the sixteenth season of the Indoor Football League (IFL). It will also be the second year it will function as a ''de facto'' minor league of the XFL (2020), XFL, and now the United States Football League (2022), USFL due to the leagues merging into the United Football League (2024), UFL. Offseason IFL to XFL During the 2023 XFL Draft, reigning Indoor Football League Most Valuable Player Award, IFL Most Valuable Player, T. J. Edwards (quarterback), T. J. Edwards, was selected by the San Antonio Brahmas and IFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, Kordell Jackson, was drafted by the Orlando Guardians. Indoor Football League
The Indoor Football League (IFL) is a professional indoor American football league created in 2008 out of the merger between the Intense Football League and United Indoor Football. It has one of the largest number of currently active teams among indoor football leagues. The league has operated continuously under the same name and corporate structure longer than any other current indoor football league. With the closure of the Arena Football League in 2019, the IFL is the oldest active professional indoor football league in North America. As of 2022 season, the league consists of 14 teams in two conferences with each team playing 16 games over 19 weeks. IFL players earn US$250–500 per game played, with a $25 bonus given to players on the winning team each week. Additionally, the teams provide housing for its players during the season. 2020 Indoor Football League Season
The 2020 Indoor Football League season was the twelfth season of the Indoor Football League (IFL). The league was set to play the season with thirteen teams, up from ten the previous season, by adding three expansion teams, one team from Champions Indoor Football, and one team folding. After playing two games, the season was initially postponed on March 12 due to social distancing measures closing venues during the COVID-19 pandemic. On April 13, the league cancelled the rest of the season due to the uncertainty that they would be able to play in any venues in the near future. Offseason On August 20, 2019, the Duke City Gladiators joined the IFL after winning back-to-back CIF championships. On September 10, the Oakland Panthers, co-owned by NFL running back Marshawn Lynch, joined the IFL for the 2020 season. Iowa Barnstormers
The Iowa Barnstormers are a professional indoor American football, indoor football team based in Des Moines, Iowa. They are currently members of the Indoor Football League (IFL). They play their home games at Wells Fargo Arena (Des Moines, Iowa), Wells Fargo Arena, known in indoor football circles as "The Well". Several teams called the Iowa Barnstormers have played in different indoor football leagues since 1995. The original Arena Football League team played in Des Moines' Veterans Memorial Auditorium (Des Moines), Veterans Memorial Auditorium from 1995 to 2001, and subsequently relocated to Uniondale, New York, where they were known as the New York Dragons. Resch Center
The Resch Center is a 10,200-seat multi-purpose arena, in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin, United States built in 2002. It is the home of the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team, the Green Bay Gamblers ice hockey team, and the Green Bay Blizzard indoor football team. The arena also hosts the annual high school girls' volleyball and girls' basketball tournaments for the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association under a long-term agreement. It was named for executive Dick Resch of a local office furniture company KI Industries, which holds the arena's naming rights. The arena was built next to the existing Brown County Veterans Memorial Arena and across the street from Lambeau Field on a site formerly home to the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame from 1976 until 2001. Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin
Ashwaubenon () is a village in Brown County, Wisconsin, Brown County in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 16,963 at the 2010 United States Census, 2010 census. Comerica Center
Comerica Center (previously Deja Blue Arena and Dr Pepper Arena) is a multi-purpose arena in Frisco, Texas. It is the home of the Texas Legends of the NBA G League and the Frisco Fighters of the Indoor Football League, as well as the executive offices and practice facility of the National Hockey League's Dallas Stars. Frisco is a city in Collin and Denton counties in the U.S. state of Texas. The Frisco Fighters are a professional indoor football team based in Frisco, Texas. A member of the Indoor Football League, the Fighters play their home games at the Comerica Center. The team was set to participate in the 2020 season, but were unable to play due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell (formerly the Tsongas Arena) is a multi-purpose facility owned by the University of Massachusetts Lowell and located in Lowell, Massachusetts.
