The 2024 Auckland Open (sponsored by ASB Bank) was a joint professional men's and women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts at the ASB Tennis Centre in Auckland. The 37th edition of the women's event (a WTA 250 tournament) was held from 1 to 7 January 2024 and the 46th edition of the men's event (an ATP 250 tournament) was held from 8 to 13 January 2024. WTA 250 Tournaments
WTA 250 tournaments is a category of tennis tournaments in the Women's Tennis Association tour, implemented since the reorganization of the schedule in 2021. Earlier these events were classified as WTA International tournaments, WTA International Tournaments. As of 2021, WTA 250 tournaments include events with prize money of approximately $250,000. The ranking points awarded to the winners of these tournaments are 280. This compares to 2,000 points for winning a Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam tournament ("major"), up to 1,500 points for winning the WTA Finals, 1000 points for winning a WTA 1000 tournament, and 470 for winning a WTA 500 tournament. This system differs slightly from that used for the men's ATP Tour, which has ATP Tour 250 events with 250 points for the winner (similar to WTA 250 tournaments), and two higher tiers of ATP tournaments offer 1000 and 500 points for winning, respectively. Taro Daniel
is a Japanese-American professional tennis player. He has won one ATP Tour singles title at the 2018 Istanbul Open, seven ATP Challenger Tour singles titles and achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 64 on 27 August 2018. Personal life Taro's mother, Yasue, is Japanese and his father, Paul Daniel, is American. He grew up in various places throughout the world. Max Purcell
Max Purcell (born 3 April 1998) is an Australian professional tennis player. He won his first Grand Slam title at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships in doubles alongside Matthew Ebden. Arthur Fils (born 12 June 2004) is a French professional tennis player. Fils has a career-high Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) singles ranking of world No. 260, which he achieved on 7 November 2022. Christopher Eubanks (born May 5, 1996) is an American professional tennis player. He played college tennis for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. There, he was a two-time All-American and twice named ACC Player of the Year. Early life and background Christopher is the son of Mark and Carla Eubanks and has one older brother, Mark. He was coached regularly by his father until he was 13. Eubanks became close friends with Donald Young and his family after they moved from Chicago to Atlanta. Around when he started high school, he began training with Young's parents, who run the South Fulton Tennis Center near where Eubanks lived.
