The 2023–24 Tampa Bay Lightning season is the 32nd season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established on December 16, 1991. Atlantic Division (NHL)
The National Hockey League has used the name Atlantic Division for two distinct groups of teams. The original Atlantic Division, the predecessor of which was the Patrick Division, was formed in 1993 as part of the Eastern Conference in a league realignment. As part of a 2013 realignment, the entirety of the former Atlantic Division was realigned into the Metropolitan Division. The Atlantic Division name was assigned to a new division comprising the entirety of the former Northeast Division plus the Florida Panthers and the Tampa Bay Lightning (coincidentally, both were members of the original Atlantic Division until 1998) from the now-dissolved Southeast Division, and the Detroit Red Wings, who moved from the Central Division of the Western Conference. The 2023 Stanley Cup playoffs is the forthcoming playoff tournament of the National Hockey League (NHL). The playoffs are scheduled to begin on April 17, 2023, a few days after the 2022–23 NHL season, and will end in June 2023 with the 2023 Stanley Cup Finals, to determine the winner of the Stanley Cup. The Swedish Hockey League (officially SHL; sv, Svenska Hockeyligan) is a professional ice hockey league, and the highest division in the Swedish ice hockey system. The league currently consists of 14 teams. The league was founded in 1975, and while Swedish ice hockey champions have been crowned through various formats since 1922, the title and the Le Mat Trophy have been awarded to the winner of the SHL playoffs since the league's inaugural 1975–76 season. In the 2010–11 season, the SHL was the world's most evenly matched professional ice hockey league. The ice hockey competitions of the 2022 Winter Olympics was played at two venues located in the Beijing cluster. The Beijing National Indoor Stadium, which seats 18,000, is one of what are being called Olympic Green venues. The Wukesong Arena, seating 10,000, was also used, with both arenas having been constructed for the 2008 Summer Olympics. Matthew Tomkins (born June 19, 1994) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender. He is currently playing for the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League (NHL). Tomkins was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, formerly known as the Lady Byng Trophy, is presented each year to the National Hockey League "player adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability". Brayden Point (born March 13, 1996) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre playing for the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Lightning selected Point in the third round, 79th overall in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
