Pacific Division (NHL)
The National Hockey League's Pacific Division was formed in 1993 as part of the Western Conference in a league realignment. It is also one of the two successors of the Smythe Division (the other one was the Northwest Division), though of the current teams, only the Anaheim Ducks, Seattle Kraken and Vegas Golden Knights did not play in the Smythe Division. Due to subsequent realignments, three of the Pacific Division's original teams (the Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, and Vancouver Canucks) left the division in 1998 but returned in 2013. The division is the only one in the NHL without any Original Six teams. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting closure of the Canada-United States border, all eight teams were transferred into two different divisions for the 2020–21 NHL season. Martin Pospíšil (ice Hockey)
Martin Pospíšil (born 19 November 1999) is a Slovak professional ice hockey centre for the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career Pospíšil was drafted in the fourth round (105th overall pick) in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft by the Calgary Flames. He was signed to a three-year, entry-level contract by the Flames on 20 April 2019. On 13 August 2020, the Flames loaned Pospíšil to HC Košice of the Slovak Extraliga. He was later re-signed to one-year, two-way contracts in 2022 and 2023. On 3 November 2023, Pospíšil was called up by the Flames and made his NHL debut the next day, scoring his first career NHL goal in a 6–3 win against the Seattle Kraken. On 18 January 2024, the Flames placed Pospíšil on injured reserve after he suffered an upper-body injury in a 4–3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. The 2023–24 Pittsburgh Penguins season is the 57th season (56th season of play) for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established on June 5, 1967. On June 1, 2023, Kyle Dubas was hired as the president of hockey operations and general manager of the Penguins, replacing Brian Burke. The Penguins will attempt to make the playoffs for the 17th time in 18 years after missing the postseason for the first time since 2006, and ending the longest active playoff appearance streak among the four major North American sports leagues at 16 years. Daniel Vladař
Daniel Vladař (born 20 August 1997) is a Czech professional ice hockey goaltender for the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League (NHL). Selected by the Boston Bruins in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, Vladař played several years in his native Czech Republic before moving to North America in 2015. After four seasons in the minor leagues he made his NHL debut with the Bruins during the 2020 Stanley Cup playoffs. Playing career Vladař played in the Czech Republic, and made his debut in the 1st Czech Republic Hockey League, the second highest league, during the 2014–15 season. He was selected 75th overall by the Boston Bruins in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, and moved to North America to join the Chicago Steel of the United States Hockey League for the 2015–16 season. Dustin Wolf
Dustin Wolf (born April 16, 2001) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender currently playing for the Calgary Wranglers of the American Hockey League (AHL) as a prospect to the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected in the seventh round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, 214th overall, by the Flames. Playing career Wolf began his junior career with the Everett Silvertips in the 2017–18 WHL season, serving as the backup goaltender behind the Philadelphia Flyers' then-prospect Carter Hart. Hart earned his second CHL Goaltender of the Year award in 2017–18 but Wolf also played very well, winning 13 of his 20 games with an impressive .928 save percentage. With Hart graduating from the WHL into the Flyers' professional ranks before the 2018–19 WHL season, Wolf became the Silvertips' starter. South Okanagan Events Centre
The South Okanagan Events Centre is a 5,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Penticton, British Columbia, Canada. It is home to the Penticton Vees ice hockey team.
