The 2023–24 AFC Champions League will be the 42nd edition of Asia's premier club association football, football tournament organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and the 21st under the current AFC Champions League title. This season is the first to have an inter-year schedule from September (autumn-to-spring) instead of an intra-year schedule (spring-to-autumn) since the 2002–03 AFC Champions League, 2002–03 season. This edition sees an increase in numbers of preliminary players with 35 players able to be registered; teams will be able to field six foreign players in games, where one of these players must still be from another Asian nation. The winners of the tournament will automatically qualify for the 2024–25 AFC Champions League, entering at the qualifying play-off stage, if they have not already qualified through their domestic performance. The 2022 AFC Champions League is the 41st edition of Asia's premier club association football, football tournament organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and the 20th under the current AFC Champions League title. This season is officially the last season in an all-year-round (spring-to-autumn) schedule despite actually being held from 2022 to 2023; from next season onwards the competitions will switch to an autumn-to-spring schedule. The winners of the tournament will automatically qualify for the 2023–24 AFC Champions League, entering the qualifying play-offs, if they have not qualified through their domestic performance. 2022–23 King Cup
The 2022–23 King Cup, or The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, was the 48th edition of the King Cup since its establishment in 1957. The tournament began on 20 December 2022 and concluded with the final on 12 May 2023. For the third year in a row, the tournament was limited to the 16 teams participating in the 2022–23 Saudi Professional League. This will be the first edition of the King Cup in which Al-Ahli, the most successful team in the competition, will not participate. Al-Fayha are the defending champions after winning their first title last season. They were eliminated in the quarter-finals by Al-Ittihad. 2021 AFC Champions League
The 2021 AFC Champions League was the 40th edition of Asia's premier club football tournament organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and the 19th under the current AFC Champions League title. Al-Hilal won their fourth title by defeating Pohang Steelers 2–0 in the final, becoming the most successful team in the history of the competition. As winners, they automatically qualified for the 2022 AFC Champions League (although they had already qualified through their domestic performance). They also earned the right to play in the 2021 FIFA Club World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. The 2021–22 Iraqi Premier League is the 48th season of the Iraqi Premier League, the highest tier football league in Iraq, since its establishment in 1974. The season started on 20 September 2021 and will end on 29 May 2022. Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya are the defending champions after winning their seventh title last season. Al-Shorta Sports Club ( ar, نادي الشرطة الرياضي, lit=''Police Sports Club'') is an Iraqi sports club based in Al-Rusafa, Baghdad. It has teams in 17 different sports, more than any other Iraqi club, and the best known section of the club is the football team, whose origins date back to 1932.
