2023 Winter Cup
The 2023 Winter Cup is an artistic gymnastics competition that was held at Freedom Hall in Louisville, Kentucky on February 24–26, 2023. Like in recent years, this competition included both men's and women's gymnastics. Background Louisville was selected as the host of the event in December 2022. Competition schedule The competition will feature senior and junior competitions for both women's and men's disciplines. The competition schedule was as follows (all times in eastern). Winter Cup
The Winter Cup is an annual winter gymnastics meet for elite artistic gymnasts of the United States. History The first edition of the Winter Cup was held in 1997 and was initially a men's artistic gymnastics competition. Women competed at the event for the first time in 2021. The competition had a combined senior and junior field until 2018. Hezly Rivera
Hezly Rivera (born June 4, 2008) is an American artistic gymnast. She was a member of the silver medal-winning team at the 2023 Junior World Championships. Additionally she is the 2023 Junior World silver medalist on floor exercise. Early life Rivera was born in Hackensack, New Jersey in 2008 to Henry Rivera and Heidy Ruiz, and raised in nearby Oradell. Gymnastics career Junior 2022 Rivera competed at the 2022 Winter Cup where she placed third in the all-around. As a result, she was selected to compete at the DTB Pokal Team Challenge. While there she helped the USA win gold. In July Rivera competed at the U.S. Classic where she finished second in the all-around behind Jayla Hang. Shane Michael Wiskus (born October 1, 1998) is an American artistic gymnast who represented the United States at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Additionally, he represented the United States at the 2019 World Championships and is a three-time NCAA Champion. Personal life Wiskus was born in Waconia, Minnesota, on October 1, 1998, to Tammy and Mike Wiskus. His sister, Annabelle, has performed with the Minnesota Association of Dance Teams. In 2002, Wiskus's mother signed him up for gymnastics classes to develop his coordination and motor skills. He began competing three years later at age seven. Wiskus studied business and marketing at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, US. Frederick Nathaniel Richard (born April 23, 2004) is an American artistic gymnast. He is the 2021 and 2022 Junior Pan American Champion. Personal life Richard was born on April 23, 2004, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Carl and Ann-Marie Richard. He has two brothers and one sister. He started with gymnastics at age four. Yul Kyung-Tae Moldauer (born August 26, 1996) is an American artistic gymnast. He is the 2017 U.S. national all-around champion and the 2017 World bronze medalist on floor exercise. He represented the United States at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Early life and education Moldauer was born in Seoul, South Korea on August 16, 1996 and named Kyung-Tae.
