2023 Uzbek Presidential Election
Early President of Uzbekistan, presidential elections were held in Uzbekistan on 9 July 2023. The early election was called after the approval of the 2023 Uzbek constitutional referendum, constitutional referendum where term limits were reset and president Shavkat Mirziyoyev can serve two more seven-year terms. Background A constitutional referendum was held in Uzbekistan on 30 April 2023. It was held on proposed constitutional amendments. Parliament of Uzbekistan, Parliament approved the referendum on 15 March 2023. The amendments were accepted in the referendum with over 90% in support, which will allow Mirziyoyev to be president for two further terms if re-elected. The Uzbekistan legislation requires at least 33% of eligible voters to take part in the presidential elections, otherwise, the elections will be pronounced invalid. Percentage Point
A percentage point or percent point is the unit (measurement), unit for the Difference (mathematics), arithmetic difference between two percentages. For example, moving up from 40 percent to 44 percent is an increase of 4 percentage points, but a 10-percent increase in the quantity being measured. In literature, the unit is usually either written out, or abbreviated as ''pp'' or ''p.p.'' to avoid ambiguity. After the first occurrence, some writers abbreviate by using just "point" or "points". Differences between percentages and percentage points Consider the following hypothetical example: In 1980, 50 percent of the population smoked, and in 1990 only 40 percent of the population smoked.
