2023 UCLA Bruins Softball Team
The 2023 UCLA Bruins softball team represented the University of California, Los Angeles in the 2023 NCAA Division I softball season. The Bruins were coached by Kelly Inouye-Perez, in her seventeenth season. The Bruins played their home games at Easton Stadium and competed in the Pac-12 Conference. Previous season The Bruins finished the 2022 season 51–10 overall, and 19–5 in the Pac-12 Conference, finishing in second place in their conference. Following the conclusion of the regular season, the Bruins received an at-large bid to the 2022 NCAA Division I softball tournament where they advanced to the semifinals of the Women's College World Series, before being eliminated by eventual tournament champion Oklahoma. Kelly Inouye-Perez
Kelly Keiko Inouye-Perez (born January 2, 1970) Playing career As a player, she was a catcher for UCLA and helped her team to three National Championships and a finish as National Runner-Up in her four playing seasons. She missed the 1991 season due to shoulder surgery. Catcher is a Baseball positions, position in baseball and softball. When a Batter (baseball), batter takes their at bat, turn to hit, the catcher crouches behind home plate, in front of the (home plate, home) Umpire (baseball), umpire, and receives the ball from the pitcher. In addition to this primary duty, the catcher is also called upon to master many other skills in order to field the position well. The role of the catcher is similar to that of the wicket-keeper in cricket. The Florida State Seminoles women's softball team represents Florida State University (variously Florida State or FSU) in the sport of softball. Florida State competes in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) and the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). In the forty-six year history of the Seminoles softball program, the team has won eighteen ACC championships, two AIAW slow-pitch national championships, and one NCAA championship. The Alabama Crimson Tide softball team represents the University of Alabama in NCAA Division I college softball. The team participates in the Western Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Nebraska Cornhuskers softball team represents the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in the Big Ten Conference of NCAA Division I.
