2023 Tour Of Belgium
The 2023 Tour of Belgium (known as the 2023 Baloise Belgium Tour for sponsorship purposes) is the 92nd edition of the Tour of Belgium road cycling stage race, which is taking place from 14 to 18 June 2023. The category 2.Pro event formed a part of the 2023 UCI ProSeries. 2023 UCI ProSeries
The 2023 UCI ProSeries is the fourth season of the UCI ProSeries, the second tier road bicycle racing, road cycling tour, below the UCI World Tour, but above the various regional UCI Continental Circuits. The calendar consists of 57 events, of which 33 are one-day races (1.Pro), and 24 are stage races (2.Pro). There are 49 events in Europe, six in Asia, one in the United States, and one in Argentina. Scherpenheuvel-Zichem
Scherpenheuvel-Zichem (; french: Montaigu-Zichem) is a City status in Belgium, city and Municipalities of Belgium, municipality located in the province of Flemish Brabant, Flemish Region, Belgium, encompassing the towns of Averbode (village), Averbode, Messelbroek, Okselaar, Scherpenheuvel, Schoonderbuken, Keiberg, Kaggevinne, Testelt and Zichem, Belgium, Zichem (previously spelled Sichem, like the biblical town). On January 1, 2020, Scherpenheuvel-Zichem had a total population of 23,135. The total area is 50.50km2 which gives a population density of 458.1 inhabitants per km2. Durbuy
Durbuy (; wa, Derbu) is a city and municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Luxembourg, Belgium. The total area is 156.61 km², consisting of the following districts: Barvaux, Bende, Bomal, Borlon, Durbuy, Grandhan, Heyd, Izier, Septon, Tohogne, Villers-Sainte-Gertrude, and Wéris. Individual Time Trial
An individual time trial (ITT) is a road bicycle race in which cyclists race alone against the clock (in French: ''contre la montre'' – literally "against the watch", in Italian: ''tappa a cronometro'' "stopwatch stage"). There are also track-based time trials where riders compete in velodromes, and team time trials (TTT). ITTs are also referred to as "the race of truth", as winning depends only on each rider's strength and endurance, and not on help provided by teammates and others riding ahead and creating a slipstream. Beveren
Beveren () is a municipality in the Belgian province of East Flanders which comprises the towns of Beveren, Doel, Haasdonk, Kallo, Kieldrecht, Melsele, Verrebroek and Vrasene. Fabio Jakobsen
Fabio Jakobsen (born 31 August 1996) is a Dutch cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career During the 2019 Vuelta a España Jakobsen won two stages, including the final stage of the race on stage 21 in Madrid. A few metres before the finish of the 1st stage in the 2020 Tour de Pologne he heavily crashed after Dylan Groenewegen deviated from his line, forcing Jakobsen into the barriers. The race doctor initially reported that Jakobsen had suffered several major injuries, including serious brain trauma and damage to the upper respiratory tract, a broken palate, and heavy blood loss, and was in life-threatening condition. On 7 August 2020, the race organisers announced that Jakobsen was out of the induced coma and in "good condition". On 18 August 2020, Jakobsen said that he was "glad to be alive" following the crash. Knokke-Heist (; french: Knocke-Heist) is a municipality in the Belgian province of West Flanders.
