2023 Swiss Open (badminton)
The 2023 Swiss Open (officially known as Yonex Swiss Open 2023 for sponsorship reasons) was a badminton tournament which took place in St. Jakobshalle at Basel, Switzerland from 21 to 26 March 2023, with a total prize of $210,000. Tournament The 2023 Swiss Open was the eighth tournament of the 2023 BWF World Tour and was part of the Swiss Open championships which had been held since 1955. It was organized by the Swiss Badminton with sanction from the Badminton World Federation. Venue This tournament was held at St. Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland. Lee Zii Jia (, born 29 March 1998) is a Malaysian badminton player. He was the men's singles gold medalist at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games and won his first BWF Super 1000 title at the 2021 All England Open. Lee is the reigning men's singles Asian champion, winning the title at the 2022 Badminton Asia Championships. Christo Popov (born 8 March 2002) is a French badminton player who affiliate with Fos club. He was the boys' doubles European U15 and U17 Junior Champions, also won the boys' singles silver medals at the 2018 European and 2019 World Junior Championships. Shi Yuqi (; Mandarin pronunciation: ; born 28 February 1996) is a Chinese badminton player. Shi Yuqi won his first Superseries title in the 2016 French Open. Brian Yang (born 25 November 2001) is a Canadian badminton player. He was an integral part of the Team Alpha that won the mixed team relay gold at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics. Career In 2016, he won three gold medals at the U–19 Pan Am Junior Championships, winning the boys' doubles, mixed doubles, and team events.
