The 2023 Pac-12 Conference football season was the 45th and final season of Pac-12 football taking place during the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The season began on August 26, 2023, and ended with the 2023 Pac-12 Championship Game on December 1, 2023, at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada. The Pac-12 is a Power Five Conference under the College Football Playoff format along with the Atlantic Coast Conference, the Big 12 Conference, Big Ten Conference, and the Southeastern Conference. The 2023 season was the second since the conference expanded to 12 teams in 2011 in which Pac-12 teams are not split into divisions. The NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), formerly known as Division I-A, is the highest level of college football in the United States. The FBS consists of the largest schools in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). As of 2022, there are 10 conferences and 131 schools in FBS. 2023 Arizona State Sun Devils Football Team
The 2023 Arizona State Sun Devils football team represented Arizona State University as a member of the Pac-12 Conference during the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Sun Devils were led by Kenny Dillingham in his first year as head coach. Dillingham was hired as Arizona State's head coach in late November 2022. Arizona State announced on August 2 a multi-year naming rights partnership. The Sun Devils played their home games at Mountain America Stadium in Tempe, Arizona. 2011 Pac-12 Conference Football Season
The 2011 Pac-12 Conference football season began on September 1, 2011 with Montana State at Utah and UC Davis at Arizona State. The conference's first game was played on September 10 with Utah at USC, and the final game played was the Pac-12 Championship Game on Friday, December 2. Oregon defeated UCLA to claim their third straight conference title. This is the first season for the conference as a 12-team league. In July 2011, Colorado and Utah joined the conference, at which time the league's name changed from the Pacific-10 Conference.
