Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup
The Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup is a competition for rhythmic gymnastics sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG). It is one of the few tournaments in rhythmic gymnastics officially organized by FIG, as well as the World Championships (including the Junior World Championships), the gymnastics competitions at the Olympic Games and the Youth Olympics, and the rhythmic gymnastics events at the World Games. The World Cup series should not be confused with the Rhythmic Gymnastics Grand Prix series, which is neither officially organized nor promoted by FIG. History In 1983, FIG decided to hold a World Cup event in rhythmic gymnastics. The event was staged as an alternative to the World Championships, a tournament held, at the time, every four years. Evita Griskenas
Evita Griskenas (born December 3, 2000) is an American individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2022 USA national all-around champion. She represented the United States at the 2020 Summer Olympics and finished twelfth in the qualification round for the individual all-around. She was the most decorated athlete at the 2019 Pan American Games where she won four gold medals and one bronze medal. She swept the gold medals at the 2017 Pan American Championships. She is a four-time national all-around silver medalist (2017, 2018, 2019, 2021), and the 2015 junior national all-around champion. Hélène Karbanov
Hélène Karbanov (born 29 December 2004) is a French individual rhythmic gymnast of Russian origin. She is the French National all-around bronze medalist in 2022, and has placed 13th in the all-around at the 2022 European Championships in Tel Aviv. Career Karbanov first competed in the sport in 2013 with her club Calais GRS. In her first junior season, she won the silver medal in the all-around behind Valérie Romenski, even though still having Russian citizenship. In January 2018, she obtained the French citizenship. Being able to compete internationally for France, she was selected to represent her country at the 2018 European Championships in Guadalajara. Zhao Yating (; born 12 May 2001 in Yuncheng, Shanxi, China) is a Chinese individual rhythmic gymnast. Career Zhao first tried rhythmic gymnastics at age three in Yangquan and began formal training at age six. She was scouted by former gymnast Wu Chuangrong and became member a National Elite Athlete of China in 2016. As a junior, Zhao won the all-around gold at the 2014 Pacific Rim Championships ahead of Nastasya Generalova of the US. Zhao won gold in hoop, ball and bronze in clubs, ribbon. Milena Baldassarri (born 16 October 2001 in Ravenna, Italy) is an Italian individual rhythmic gymnast. She won the silver medal at the World Championship at the 2018 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, in Individual all around. Elzhana Taniyeva (russian: Эльжана Таниева; born 6 September 2005) is a Kazakh rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2024 Asian all-around champion and will represent Kazakhstan at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
