2023 FA Community Shield
The 2023 FA Community Shield was the 101st FA Community Shield, an annual football match played between the winners of the previous season's Premier League and FA Cup competitions. It took place at Wembley Stadium on 6 August 2023. As Manchester City won both the 2022–23 Premier League and the 2022–23 FA Cup, their opponents were the Premier League runners-up, Arsenal. Arsenal won 4–1 on penalties after a 1–1 draw within 90 minutes. This was Arsenal's first competitive trophy since winning the 2020 FA Community Shield, making City the first club to lose three Community Shield matches in a row since cross-city rival Manchester United's four between 1998 and 2001. A matchday programme or match programme is a booklet associated with a live sporting event which details the proposed starting lineup and other details of the match. To some spectators, the purchase of a matchday programme is part of the "ritual" of attending football and hurling matches in Britain and Ireland. The 2014 FA Community Shield (also known as The FA Community Shield supported by McDonald's for sponsorship reasons) was the 92nd FA Community Shield, an annual English football match played between the winners of the previous season's Premier League and FA Cup. The game was played between Arsenal, who beat Hull City in the final of the 2013–14 FA Cup, and Manchester City, champions of the 2013–14 Premier League. Erik ten Hag (, born 2 February 1970) is a Dutch professional football coach and former player, who is currently the manager of Premier League club Manchester United. As a player, Ten Hag played as a centre-back in the Dutch league for 13 years, making appearances for Twente (three spells), De Graafschap, RKC Waalwijk and Utrecht. The Football Association Community Shield (formerly the Charity Shield) is English football's annual match contested at Wembley Stadium between the champions of the previous Premier League season and the holders of the FA Cup.
