2023 Edmonton Elks Season
The 2023 Edmonton Elks season was the 65th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 74th overall. After an 0–9 start to the season, the Elks were mathematically eliminated from playoff contention following their week 18 loss to the Toronto Argonauts. The team's 2023 season was the second under the second tenure of head coach and general manager, Chris Jones. The Elks struggled on the field and started the season 0–7 for the first time in franchise history. The only other Edmonton-based senior football team to start a season 0–7 was the 1938 Edmonton Eskimos who went winless in the then-eight-game Western Interprovincial Football Union season. West Division (CFL)
The West Division is one of the two regional divisions of the Canadian Football League (CFL), its counterpart being the East Division. Although the CFL was not founded until 1958, the West Division and its clubs are descended from earlier leagues. The five teams in the West Division are the BC Lions, Calgary Stampeders, Edmonton Elks, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. There were also two now-defunct teams from the mid 1990s United States expansion of the CFL who played in the West Division. Auburn Tigers Football
The Auburn Tigers football program represents Auburn University in the sport of American college football. Auburn competes in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Western Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Auburn officially began competing in intercollegiate football in 1892. Kilian Zierer (born February 24, 2000) is a German professional American football offensive tackle for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the College of the Canyons Cougars and Auburn Tigers. Early life Zierer was born on February 24, 2000, in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. Placekicker, or simply kicker (PK or K), is the player in gridiron football who is responsible for the kicking duties of field goals and extra points. In many cases, the placekicker also serves as the team's kickoff specialist or punter. Specialized role The kicker initially was not a specialized role. Dean Faithfull (The Badger) (born 23 May 1987) is an English gridiron football placekicker for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Formerly a soccer player, he played the sport in college from 2007 to 2010 at Florida Tech and later played across the world in semi-professional leagues.
