2023 Cincinnati Reds Season
The 2023 Cincinnati Reds season was the 154th season for the franchise in Major League Baseball, and their 21st at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati. With a win over the Cleveland Guardians on August 16, the Reds improved on their 62–100 record from the 2022 season. From June 10 to June 23, the Reds had a 12 game winning streak, their third best in franchise history, and second best of the season, only behind the Tampa Bay Rays 13 game winning streak. Despite the winning streak during the season, the Reds were eliminated from post season contention after a September 30 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. National League Central
The National League Central is one of Major League Baseball's six divisions. This division was created in 1994, by moving two teams from the National League West (the Cincinnati Reds and the Houston Astros) and three teams from the National League East (the Chicago Cubs, the Pittsburgh Pirates, and the St. Louis Cardinals). When the division was created in 1994, the Pirates were originally supposed to stay in the East while the Atlanta Braves were to be moved to the Central from the West. However, the Braves, wanting to form a natural rivalry with the expansion Florida Marlins, requested to remain in the East. Despite the Marlins offering to go to the Central, the Pirates instead gave up their spot in the East to the Braves. Since then, the Pirates have tried several times unsuccessfully to be placed back in the East. Kyle Dowdy
Kyle Alexander Dowdy (born February 3, 1993) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Baltimore Orioles organization. He has previously played in MLB for the Texas Rangers and Cincinnati Reds. Amateur career Dowdy graduated from Francis Parker School in San Diego, California, in 2011. Undrafted out of high school in the 2011 MLB draft, he enrolled at the University of Hawaii where he played college baseball for the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors. In 2012, as a freshman, he appeared in 13 games, going 2–3 with a 3.06 earned run average (ERA). Following his freshman year, Dowdy transferred to Orange Coast College. As a sophomore in 2013, he had a 6–3 record with a 2.38 ERA, striking out 62 batters in 75.2 innings. He transferred to the University of Houston following his sophomore season. Baltimore Orioles
The Baltimore Orioles are an American professional baseball team based in Baltimore. The Orioles compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) American League East, East division. Chuckie Robinson
Charles Robinson III (born December 14, 1994) is an American professional baseball catcher in the Chicago White Sox organization. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Cincinnati Reds. Amateur career Robinson grew up in Danville, Illinois and attended Danville High School. Robinson played college baseball for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles for three seasons. He was the team's backup catcher during his first two seasons with the team. After his sophomore season, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Ocean State Waves of the New England Collegiate Baseball League. Robert Dugger
Robert Lee Dugger (born July 3, 1995) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is currently a free agent. He has previously played in MLB for the Miami Marlins, Tampa Bay Rays, Seattle Mariners and Cincinnati Reds. Amateur career Dugger attended Tomball High School in Tomball, Texas. In 2013, as a senior, he led Tomball to a Texas UIL 4A State Championship, throwing a complete game in which he allowed only one run while striking out six, along with going 3–4 at the plate, including a three-run inside-the-park home run. He was named to the 4A All-State Baseball Team that year. Undrafted out of high school, he enrolled at Cisco Junior College where he played college baseball. Chattanooga Lookouts
The Chattanooga Lookouts are a Minor League Baseball team of the Southern League and the Double-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. They are located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and are named for nearby Lookout Mountain. The team plays its home games at AT&T Field which opened in 2000 and seats 6,340 fans. They previously played at Engel Stadium from 1930 through 1999, with a one-year break in Montgomery, Alabama's Cramton Bowl in 1943. History In 1906, Oliver Burnside "O.B." Andrews, owner of the Andrews Paper Box Company, took ownership of a franchise in the South Atlantic League relocating the Single-A team to Chattanooga.
