2023 Chicago Sky Season
The 2023 Chicago Sky season was the franchise's 18th season in the Women's National Basketball Association, and their fifth season under head coach James Wade. In the offseason, the team saw the departures of several key players in free agency including Candace Parker, Courtney Vandersloot, Allie Quigley, and Azurá Stevens. On July 1, 2023, Wade stepped down as the head coach of the Sky to become an assistant coach of the Toronto Raptors in the NBA, so he was replaced by Emre Vatansever for the rest of the season. The Women’s National Basketball Association announced that the first WNBA Canada Game would feature the Minnesota Lynx and the Sky on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, ON. WNBA Eastern Conference
The Eastern Conference of the Women's National Basketball Association is made up of six teams. From the league's second season in 1998 through 2015, the WNBA operated separate playoff brackets for its Eastern and Western Conferences. Each conference's playoff was divided into two playoff rounds, the Conference Semi-Finals and the Conference Finals, with the Conference Finals winners receiving Conference Championships and advancing to the WNBA Finals to determine the WNBA champion. In the final years of this playoff scheme, all in-conference playoff series were best-of-three. Since 2016, the league has abandoned separate conference playoffs in favor of a single league-wide playoff bracket. 2023 Dallas Wings Season
The 2023 Dallas Wings season was the franchise's 26th season in the Women's National Basketball Association and the 8th season for the franchise in Dallas - after relocating from Tulsa and Detroit. This was the first season under head coach Latricia Trammell. On September 19, 2022, the Wings announced that they would not renew the contract of head coach Vickie Johnson, effectively firing her. On November 7, 2022, the Wings announced that Trammell would be the new head coach for the organization. The season began well, with the Wings winning their first two games and finishing 3–1 in the opening month of May. However, their good run of form did not carry over into June as they lost their first two games, before winning their next two. The Phoenix Mercury are an American professional basketball team based in Phoenix, Arizona, playing in the Western Conference (WNBA), Western Conference in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Marina Mabrey
Marina Mabrey (born September 14, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Mabrey was drafted in the second round (19th pick overall) by the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2019 WNBA draft. She previously played with the United States women's national under-19 basketball team and the University of Notre Dame. Astou Ndour-Fall ( Ndour; born August 22, 1994) is a Spanish professional basketball player for the Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) and for Çukurova Basketbol of the Turkish Women's Basketball League. Born in Senegal, she represents Spain internationally. Early life Astou Ndour was born in Dakar, Senegal on August 8, 1994. Both of her parents had been basketball players. Feyonda Fitzgerald (born April 15, 1995) is an American professional basketball player who is currently a free agent. Career She played for Panathinaikos in the Greek League for the second half of the 2021–22. Isabelle Harrison (born September 27, 1993) is an American basketball player for the Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She is the daughter of former NFL Defensive End Dennis Harrison Jr. College career Harrison tore her ACL in February 2015 against Kentucky. She was the 34th Lady Vol to be drafted in the WNBA Draft, the first since the 2012 WNBA Draft when Glory Johnson and Kelley Cain were drafted. She played college basketball at Purdue and Virginia Tech. College career Traylor came out of the high school as the 41st over rated recruit by ESPNW's Top 100 per HoopGurlz.
