2023 Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2023 Big Ten men's basketball tournament was a postseason men's basketball tournament for the Big Ten Conference of the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season which took place from March 8–12, 2023. The tournament was held at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. Purdue defeated Penn State 67–65 to win the tournament. As a result, they received the conference's automatic bid to the 2023 NCAA tournament. Seeds All 14 Big Ten schools participated in the tournament. Teams were seeded by conference record, with a tiebreaker system used to seed teams with identical conference records. The top 10 teams received a first round bye and the top four teams received a double bye. Tiebreaking procedures remained unchanged from the 2022 tournament. United Center is an indoor arena on the Near West Side of Chicago, Illinois, United States. It is home to the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL). The 2022–23 Iowa Hawkeyes men's basketball team represented the University of Iowa during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by 13th-year head coach Fran McCaffery and played its home games at Carver–Hawkeye Arena as members of the Big Ten Conference. Dawson Lee Garcia (born September 20, 2001) is an American college basketball player for the Minnesota Golden Gophers of the Big Ten Conference. He previously played for the Marquette Golden Eagles and the North Carolina Tar Heels. High school career Garcia attended Prior Lake High School in Savage, Minnesota and was coached by Jon Miller. He averaged 8.8 points per game as a freshman followed by 21.4 points per game as a sophomore. Garcia missed 12 games as a junior. As a junior, Garcia averaged 27.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per game. Brice P. Sensabaugh (born October 30, 2003) is an American professional basketball player for the Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Early life and high school career Sensabaugh grew up in Orlando, Florida and attended Lake Highland Preparatory School. He was the team's leading scorer as a sophomore but missed his entire junior season due to a meniscus injury.
