2023 Adelaide International 1
The 2023 Adelaide International 1 was a tennis tournament on the 2023 ATP Tour and 2023 WTA Tour. It was a combined ATP Tour 250 and WTA 500 tournament played on outdoor hard courts in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. This was the fourth edition of the tournament for the women and the third edition for the men. The tournament took place at the Memorial Drive Tennis Centre from 1–8 January 2023 and was followed a week later by the 2023 Adelaide International 2, a combined ATP Tour 250 and WTA 500 tournament, at the same venue. The ATP 250 tournaments (previously known as the ''ATP World Tour 250'' tournaments, ''ATP International Series'', and ''ATP World Series'') are the lowest tier of annual men's tennis tournaments on the main ATP Tour, after the four Grand Slam tournaments, ATP Finals, ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, and ATP 500 tournaments. As of 2020, the series includes 39 tournaments, with 250 ranking points awarded to each singles champion—which accounts for the name of the series. The 2023 Adelaide International 2 was a tennis tournament on the 2023 ATP Tour and 2023 WTA Tour. It was a combined ATP Tour 250 and WTA 500 tournament played on outdoor hard courts in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. Due to the tournament's interim replacement of Sydney International in Sydney, New South Wales, which hosted the inaugural 2023 United Cup. This was the fourth edition of the tournament for the women and the third edition for the men. Michael Venus (born 16 October 1987), is a New Zealander professional tennis player. He has a career-high doubles ranking of world No. 6, achieved on 29 August 2022. Venus won the 2017 French Open men's doubles partnering Ryan Harrison, and followed with a runner-up finish in the 2017 US Open mixed doubles partnering Chan Hao-ching.
