ANZ Premiership
The ANZ Premiership is the top level netball league featuring teams from New Zealand. In 2017 it replaced the ANZ Championship, which also included teams from Australia, as the top level netball league in New Zealand. It is organised by Netball New Zealand. Its main sponsor is ANZ. In 2017, Southern Steel were the inaugural ANZ Premiership winners. Central Pulse are the league's most successful team, having won three premierships. Southern Steel
Southern Steel are a netball in New Zealand, New Zealand netball team based in Invercargill. Between 2008 ANZ Championship season, 2008 and 2016 ANZ Championship season, 2016, they played in the ANZ Championship. Since 2017 ANZ Premiership season, 2017 they have represented Netball South in the ANZ Premiership. Netball South is the governing body that represents Southland, New Zealand, Southland and Otago. In 2017 they won their first premiership when they were the inaugural ANZ Premiership winners. In 2018 ANZ Premiership season, 2018 they won their second premiership when they retained the title. In 2017 Netball New Zealand Super Club, 2017 Steel were the inaugural winners of the Netball New Zealand Super Club tournament. Eventfinda Stadium
The Eventfinda Stadium (originally known as the North Shore Events Centre) is an indoor arena located in the North Shore City suburb of Wairau Valley, Auckland, New Zealand. The arena opened in 1992 and has a capacity of 4,179. It primarily hosts community events and was previously the home arena of the New Zealand Breakers, who play in the Australian NBL. It also hosts concerts, expos, trade shows, conferences, netball, MMA, cheerleading and dance. It has also hosted the New Zealand Badminton Open for over 10 years. Energy Events Centre
The Energy Events Centre is a venue for sports, conferences, exhibitions, banquets and concerts in Rotorua, New Zealand. The centre can hold up to 3,500 people and was finished in February 2007. The driving force behind the establishment of the centre was Peter McLeod (died 2015) of Rotorua Lakes Council. The main court is the current alternate home for the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic netball team in the ANZ Championship. The franchise uses Mystery Creek Events Centre in Hamilton as their main home venue, with Queen Elizabeth Youth Centre in Tauranga as another alternate home. Te Rauparaha Arena
Te Rauparaha Arena is a multi-purpose indoor sports and entertainment centre, with pools, dash swim school, a fitness centre and indoor sports stadium and venues, in Porirua, New Zealand. The centre, which cost NZ$17.5 million to construct, was officially opened on 21 November 2008. The main stadium has a maximum capacity of 3,000, while a secondary stadium can hold another 500 people. The venue was named by the Ngāti Toa iwi after one of their most famous leaders, Te Rauparaha. History The venue was built as a replacement for the Porirua Recreation Centre, which went into the administration of the Porirua City Council in 1998 after it was no longer able to be maintained. Edgar Centre
The Edgar Centre is a large multi-purpose indoor sports venue in South Dunedin, New Zealand, on the shore of Otago Harbour close to Andersons Bay Inlet. It is the home venue of the Otago Nuggets basketball team, and an alternate venue for the Southern Steel netball team. The centre also hosts a wide variety of other sports events and community events such as auctions and fairs, and is owned by the Dunedin City Council. The building is named after Dunedin millionaire and philanthropist Eion Edgar. Originally a wool-store, it was purchased and converted by the Dunedin City Council at a cost of NZ$2.5 million, of which 20% was provided by Edgar. Stadium Southland
ILT Stadium Southland in Invercargill, New Zealand is a multi-purpose venue, capable of conducting a wide range of events from large scale concerts to sporting events and exhibitions. Incorporating the SIT Zero Fees Velodrome, the stadium complex has hosted a range of national and international events – sporting, recreational, cultural, arts, corporate and even equestrian. The original stadium was completed in May 2000 but in September 2010, a heavy snowfall caused the main stadium roof to collapse, causing substantial structural damage to the complex. Globox Arena
Globox Arena (formerly Claudelands Arena) is a multi-purpose indoor sports and entertainment arena located in Hamilton, New Zealand, Hamilton, New Zealand. Globox Arena is part of Claudelands Events Centre which contains a 6000-capacity arena and four-star conference and exhibition centre. Construction began on Claudelands Events Centre in 2007 and was completed in 2011 at a cost of $68.4 million ($NZD). Christchurch Arena
Christchurch Arena is an indoor arena in Christchurch, New Zealand. It is located in the suburb of Addington. It has gone through a series of name changes, the most recent of which prior to its current name having been Horncastle Arena. Description The arena is New Zealand's second-largest indoor arena with a maximum capacity of 8,888 (depending on event type), it was the largest until the construction of Auckland's Vector Arena in 2007. The indoor stadium is capable of hosting concerts, exhibitions and various sporting events. Provision for international sport and traditional indoor arena events has been integrated into the design requirements. The TSB Bank Arena (formerly known as the Queens Wharf Events Centre) is an indoor arena in Wellington. About The arena hosts mainly basketball games and is the home arena for the Century City Saints and part-time home arena of the New Zealand Breakers when they play in Wellington. It was also the home arena for the Richter City Roller Derby, which started to play here in the middle of their 2009 season. It also hosts expositions and conventions like the Armageddon Pulp Expo and the DCM Book Fair. Built in 1995, it originally held 3,635 people.
