2022–23 Utah State Aggies Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Utah State Aggies men's basketball team represented Utah State University in the Mountain West Conference during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Led by second-year head coach Ryan Odom, the Aggies played their home games on campus at the Smith Spectrum in Logan, Utah. Utah State finished the regular season at 24–7 (13–5 in Mountain West, second). In the conference tournament, they defeated New Mexico and Boise State, then lost to San Diego State in the final. The Aggies received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament and were seeded tenth in the South region; they were defeated by seventh seed Missouri in the first round at Sacramento and finished at 26–9. Ryan Odom
Robert Ryan Odom (born July 11, 1974) is an American men's college basketball coach who is currently the head coach of the VCU Rams men's basketball team. He was previously the head coach of the Lenoir–Rhyne Bears, the UMBC Retrievers, and the Utah State Aggies. Odom served as the interim head coach of the Charlotte 49ers men's basketball team from January 6 until March 15, 2015. In this capacity, he replaced Alan Major when Major went on a medical leave of absence to deal with chronic health issues. After one season as head coach at Lenoir–Rhyne, Odom was head coach at UMBC from 2016 to 2021. In the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament, UMBC upset no. 1 seed Virginia and became the first no. 16 seed to beat a no. 1 seed in NCAA Division I men's tournament history. 2022 Mountain West Conference Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2022 Mountain West Conference men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Mountain West Conference. It was held March 9–12, 2022, at the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in Paradise, Nevada. The tournament champion, the Boise State Broncos, received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Seeds The defending champions from the prior season were the San Diego State Aztecs. All 11 Mountain West schools participated in the tournament. Teams were seeded by conference record with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical percentages. Justin Barrus Bean (born November 17, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for the Memphis Hustle of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the Utah State Aggies.
