2022–23 Super50 Cup
The 2022–23 Super50 Cup is an upcoming cricket tournament; it will be the 48th edition of the Super50 Cup, the domestic limited-overs cricket competition for the countries of the Cricket West Indies (CWI). The tournament is due to take place in October and November 2022 in Trinidad and Tobago. The tournament will consist of eight teams: Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, the Leeward Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, the Windward Islands, the Combined Campuses and Colleges, and a West Indies Emerging Team. The previous edition, which took place in February 2021, was won by Trinidad and Tobago. The teams will be split into 2 groups, with defending champions and hosts Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, the Windward Islands and Combined Campuses and Colleges in Zone A, while Barbados, Jamaica, the Leeward Islands and West Indies Emerging Team will be in Zone B. Cricket West Indies
Cricket West Indies (CWI) is the governing body for cricket in the West Indies (a sporting confederation of over a dozen mainly English-speaking Caribbean countries and dependencies that once formed the British West Indies). It was originally formed in the early 1920s as the West Indies Cricket Board of Control, but changed its name to West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) in 1996. In November 2015, the Board resolved to rename itself as Cricket West Indies as part of a restructuring exercise that would also see the creation of a separate commercial body. Jonathan Lyndon Carter (born 16 November 1987) is a Barbadian cricketer who currently plays for Barbados. He is a big-hitting left-handed batsman who also bowls right-arm medium pace. He made his international debut for the West Indies in January 2015. Carter first played for Barbados in 2007 in a List A match against West Indies Under-19s. He has represented West Indies A. Shimron Odilon Hetmyer (born 26 December 1996) is a Guyanese cricketer who plays for the West Indies cricket team. He was part of the West Indies' squad for the 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. In December 2015 he was named as the captain of the West Indies squad for the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Leon Rayon Johnson (born 8 August 1987 in Georgetown, Demerara), is a Guyanese born cricketer who plays as a right handed middle order batsman. Shane Omari Dowrich (born 30 October 1991) is a Barbadian international cricketer who plays as a wicket-keeper. He has featured for the West Indies, Barbados along with CPL teams St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and Barbados Tridents in his cricketing career. Jomel Andrel Warrican (born 20 May 1992) is a West Indian cricketer. He is a slow left-arm orthodox bowler and a right-handed tail-end batsman.
