2022–23 Portland State Vikings Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Portland State Vikings men's basketball team represented Portland State University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Vikings, led by second-year head coach Jase Coburn, played their home games at Viking Pavilion in Portland, Oregon as members of the Big Sky Conference. Previous season The Vikings finished the 2021–22 season 14–17, 10–10 in Big Sky play to finish in seventh place. In the Big Sky tournament, they defeated Northern Arizona and Southern Utah before losing to Northern Colorado in the semifinals. Jase Coburn
Jase Coburn (born September 16, 1983) is an American basketball coach who is currently the head coach at Portland State University. He was promoted in 2021 after eight seasons as an assistant with the program, and was a coach at the high school and junior college ranks before joining Portland State. Coaching career Coburn got his start coaching at Corona del Sol High School in Tempe as an assistant before moving on to Phoenix Junior College as an assistant. He was named the head coach at McClintock High School in Tempe at the age of 23 in 2007 and led them to a state championship by the time he was 26. He was also an assistant at Howard Junior College in Texas before joining Portland State. Portland State Coburn was hired as an assistant coach at Portland State in 2013. He was elevated to associate head coach before the 2018 season. The Pepperdine Waves men's basketball team is an American college basketball team that represents Pepperdine University in NCAA Division I, the highest level of intercollegiate athletics sanctioned by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Waves compete in the West Coast Conference and are coached by Lorenzo Romar. The Waves have qualified for the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament 13 times. The IUPUI Jaguars men's basketball team is the men's basketball team that represents Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States.
