2022–23 Minnesota Golden Gophers Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Minnesota Golden Gophers men's basketball team represented the University of Minnesota in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Gophers were led by second-year head coach Ben Johnson and played their home games at Williams Arena in Minneapolis, Minnesota as members of the Big Ten Conference. They finished the season 9–22, 2–17 in Big Ten play to finish in last place. They defeated Nebraska in the first round of the Big Ten tournament before losing to Maryland in the second round. Previous season The Gophers finished the 2021–22 season 13–17, 4–16 in Big Ten play to finish in a tie for last place. The team was almost entirely remade from the prior season, with 10 players transferring out of the program following the firing of former head coach Richard Pitino. Ben Johnson (basketball)
Benjamin Johnson (born December 23, 1980) is an American college basketball coach who is the head coach for the Minnesota Golden Gophers men's basketball of the Big Ten Conference. He played both football and basketball for the Northwestern Wildcats and Golden Gophers before becoming an assistant coach for several major college programs. Playing career Johnson led DeLaSalle High School to two Minnesota state championships and was a two-time first-team all state selection in basketball. He then played two years for the Northwestern University Wildcats before transferring home to the University of Minnesota, where he played his two final seasons for the Golden Gophers and finished with 533 points in 59 games. 2022 Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2022 Big Ten men's basketball tournament was a postseason men's basketball tournament for the Big Ten Conference of the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season which took place March 9–13, 2022. The tournament was held at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. Iowa defeated Purdue in the championship game, 75–66, to win the tournament. As a result, they received the conference's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA tournament. Seeds All 14 Big Ten schools participated in the tournament. Teams were seeded by conference record, with a tiebreaker system used to seed teams with identical conference records. Dartmouth Big Green Men's Basketball
The Dartmouth Big Green men's basketball program is the intercollegiate men's basketball program of Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. The program is classified in the NCAA Division I and the team competes in the Ivy League. They play their home games at Leede Arena and are coached by David McLaughlin. The Big Green have not had a winning record since going 14–12 in the 1998–99 season. New Brighton is a city in Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States. It is a suburb of the Twin Cities. The population was 22,753 at the 2020 census. History In the mid 18th century, Mdewakanton Dakota tribes lived in the vicinity of New Brighton's marshy lakes, harvesting wild rice.
