2022–23 Colorado Buffaloes Women's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Colorado Buffaloes women's basketball team represented the University of Colorado Boulder during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Buffaloes, led by seventh year head coach JR Payne, played their home games at the CU Events Center and compete as members of the Pac-12 Conference. Previous season The Buffaloes finished the season 22–9, 9–7 in Pac-12 play to finish in fifth place. As the fifth seed in the Pac-12 women's tournament they defeated Washington in the first round, Arizona in the quarterfinals before losing to Stanford in the semifinals. They received an automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Tournament as a 7th seed in the Greensboro Region where they got upset by 10th seed Creighton in the first round. JR Payne
Ali-Marie "JR" Payne (born May 27, 1977) is an American college basketball coach who is currently head women's coach at Colorado. Early life and education Ali-Marie Payne was born in the American city of Jackson, Tennessee and raised in the Canadian city of North Vancouver, British Columbia. Her father nicknamed her after J. R. Ewing, a character on the TV show ''Dallas''. She attended Windsor Secondary School in North Vancouver. Payne attended Saint Mary's College, where she would play point guard for the Saint Mary's Gaels from 1995 to 1999. During her senior season, Payne helped lead the Gaels to their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance. She earned two first-team All- West Coast Conference honor. In 1999, Payne graduated from Saint Mary's with a degree in French, then attended San Francisco State University for a year for graduate school. Georgetown Hoyas Women's Basketball
The Georgetown Hoyas women's basketball team is women's basketball program in the NCAA Division I Big East Conference. They are currently coached by James Howard, the program's tenth coach, now in his second year. The team was first formed in 1970, and joined the Big East in 1983. They play their home games on campus at McDonough Gymnasium. The women's teams have been invited to the NCAA tournament four times, reaching the Sweet Sixteen in 1993 and 2011, and the second round in 2010 and 2012. They have been invited to the Women's National Invitation Tournament, five times, progressing furthest in 2009 by reaching the fourth round. Ramsay High School is a four-year magnet high school in Birmingham, Alabama. It is one of seven high schools in the Birmingham City School System and one of three International Baccalaureate schools in the Birmingham metropolitan area. The Arizona Wildcats women's basketball program is the official women's basketball program at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona.
