2022–23 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship
The 2022–23 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship was the 52nd staging of the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county club hurling tournament. The draws for the respective provincial championships took place at various stages between June and September 2022. The championship ran from 6 November 2022 to 22 January 2023. Ballygunner of Waterford entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Ballyhale Shamrocks in the All-Ireland semi-final. Ferns St. Aidan's and Shinrone made their championship debuts, while Kilruane MacDonaghs and St. Finbarr's returned to the championship after long absences. Pat Hoban (hurler)
Patrick Hoban (born 1968) is an Irish hurling manager and former player. At club level he lined out with Mullinavat and was also a member of the Kilkenny senior hurling team. Hoban later served as a manager with various Kilkenny teams. Playing career Born in Mullinavat, County Kilkenny, Hoban first came to prominence at juvenile and underage levels with the local club. He eventually joined the club's top adult team and was a member of their County Intermediate Championship-winning teams in 1989 and 2001. Hoban first appeared on the inter-county scene as a member of the Kilkenny minor team in 1986 before later winning a Leinster Championship medal with the under-21 team in 1988. He made a number of National League appearances with the Kilkenny senior hurling team and was an unused substitute on the 1992 All-Ireland Championship-winning team. Kilruane MacDonaghs GAA
Kilruane MacDonaghs GAA is a Tipperary GAA club which is located in County Tipperary, Ireland. Both hurling and Gaelic football are played in the "North-Tipperary" divisional competitions. The club is centred on the villages of Kilruane, Ardcroney and Cloughjordan. The club was founded in 1937 and is named after Thomas MacDonagh, a signatory of the 1916 Proclamation who was born and lived in Cloughjordan. The clubhouse and playing field are located in Cloughjordan. The finest day in the club's history was in 1986 when it won the Senior Hurling Club All-Ireland title, defeating Buffers Alley of Wexford GAA in the final by 1-15 to 2-10. The club incorporates many of clubs that existed in the parishes at the time. A forerunner to the MacDonaghs club was the famous De Wets formed in 1900. Dessie Hutchinson
Dessie Hutchinson (born 5 December 1996) is an Irish hurler and former professional association footballer. He last played professional football as a midfielder or full-back for Waterford of the League of Ireland Premier Division. In 2020 he joined the Waterford county hurling team and was part of the team that reached the 2020 All-Ireland SHC Final. Hutchinson was born in Dunmore East, County Waterford and played youth football with Waterford Bohemians and Brighton & Hove Albion, where he made his senior debut in the EFL Cup. Waterford Senior Hurling Championship
The Waterford Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the JJ Kavanagh & Sons Senior Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Waterford County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1897 for the top hurling teams in the county of Waterford in Ireland. The series of games are played during the spring, summer and autumn months with the county final currently being played at Walsh Park in October. Initially played as a knock-out competition, the championship currently features a group stage followed by a knock-out stage. 2021 Clare Senior Hurling Championship
The 2021 Clare Senior Hurling Championship was a competition in hurling that was the 126th staging of the Clare Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Clare County Board in 1887. With Sixmilebridge having won back-to-back titles in 2019 and 2020, they are looking to be the first Clare club team to win a three-in-a-row since Newmarket-on-Fergus in 1973. They defeated near-neighbours O'Callaghan's Mills in the 2020 final who were contesting their first final since 1993 which they ironically also lost to Sixmilebridge. The 2021 Championship changed from the regular layout in adopting a group stage format. The 2016–17 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship was the 47th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship since it began in the 1970–71 season. It is the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county club hurling tournament. The winners receive the Tommy Moore Cup. The championship began on 2 October 2016 and ended on 17 March 2017. On 17 March 2017, Cuala won the championship following a 2–19 to 1–10 defeat of Ballyea in the All-Ireland final. This was their first All-Ireland title and a first title for a Dublin club. Senior Hurling Championship, more commonly known as the'' Clare Senior Hurling Championship ''or'' Clare SHC, ''is an annual hurling competition organised by the Clare County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. It is contested by the top-ranking senior hurling clubs in Clare, Ireland. It is the most prestigious competition in Clare hurling. Introduced in 1887 as the Clare Hurling Championship, it was initially a straight knockout tournament open only to senior-ranking club teams. The 2019-20 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship was the 50th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county club hurling tournament. The championship began on 27 October 2019 and ended on 19 January 2020. Ballyhale Shamrocks of Kilkenny were the defending champions. On 18 January 2020, Ballyhale Shamrocks won the championship after an 0-18 to 0-15 defeat of Borris-Ileigh in the All-Ireland final at Croke Park.
