President Of Romania
The president of Romania ( ro, Președintele României) is the head of state of Romania. Following a modification to the Romanian Constitution in 2003, the president is directly elected by a two-round system and serves for five years. An individual may serve two terms. During their term in office, the president may not be a formal member of a political party. The office of president was created in 1974, when Communist leader Nicolae Ceaușescu elevated the presidency of the State Council to a fully fledged executive presidency. It took its current form in stages after the Romanian Revolution— Ion Iliescu deposed Ceaușescu, resulting in the adoption of Romania's current constitution in 1991. Klaus Iohannis is the incumbent president since his inauguration on 21 December 2014. Iohannis is of full Transylvanian Saxon descent, making him the first president from Romania's German minority. Valer Dorneanu
Valer Dorneanu (born 21 November 1944) is a Romanian politician and jurist. A prominent member of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), Dorneanu was the president of the Chamber of Deputies (the lower house of the Romanian Parliament) between December 2000 and November 2004. He spent four additional years in the Chamber, departing at the 2008 election. From 18 Octobre 2010 to 28 Mars 2013, he was adjoint to the Romanian Ombudsman office, in the military, juridical, police, and penitentiary areas. From 3 July 2012 to 23 January 2013, he functioned interimistically as the Ombudsman (''Avocatului Poporului''). Since 2013 he is a judge in Romania's Constitutional Court, for a mandate of 9 years, and the president of this institution since 2016. Claudiu Richard Târziu (born 20 February 1973 in Bacău, Bacău County, Romania) is a Romanian right-wing to far-right politician and journalist. Together with George Simion, he was the co-president of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), a political party in Romania that gained popularity after its unexpected high score in the 2020 Romanian legislative election, until 27 March 2022, when Simion was elected as the party's sole president. George Simion
George Nicolae Simion (born 21 September 1986 in Focșani, Romania) is a Romanian right-wing to far-right politician and civic activist. He is the president of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), a political party in Romania that gained popularity after its unexpected high result in the 2020 Romanian legislative election. Simion studied at some of the most prestigious national educational institutions in Romania such as the Gheorghe Lazăr National College, the University of Bucharest, and the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, getting in the latter a master's degree in history. After this, he began to be a civic activist in favor of the unification of Moldova and Romania. Alliance For The Union Of Romanians
The Alliance for the Union of Romanians ( ro, Alianța pentru Unirea Românilor, AUR) is a right-wing populist and nationalist political party currently active in Romania and Moldova. It was founded on 19 September 2019. This was done with the intention of participating in the 2020 Romanian local and legislative elections. Currently, the party president is George Simion. The party ran in the local elections, not obtaining many votes and only winning in three towns.
