The president of Chile ( es, Presidente de Chile), officially known as the President of the Republic of Chile ( es, Presidente de la República de Chile), is the head of state and head of government of the Republic of Chile. The president is responsible for both the Government of Chile and state administration. Although its role and significance has changed over the history of Chile, as well as its position and relations with other actors in the national political organization, it is one of the most prominent political offices. Cristina Calderón Harban (24 May 1928 – 16 February 2022) was a Chilean ethnographer, craftswoman, writer and cultural activist who was the last living full-blooded Yahgan person after the death of her 84-year-old sister Úrsula in 2005. By 2004, Calderón (often referred to as simply "''Abuela''", Spanish for "grandmother") and her sister-in-law Emelinda Acuña were the only two remaining native speakers of the Yahgan language, an indigenous language in Tierra del Fuego. Early life Calderón was born in Robalo, Puerto Williams, Navarino Island, on 24 May 1928 to Juan Calderón (''Akačexaninčis'') and Carmen Harban (''Lanixweliskipa''). Her father was one of the informants of missionary and anthropologist Martin Gusinde. Leonor Oyarzún
Leonor Oyarzún Ivanovic (10 March 1919 – 21 January 2022) was a Chilean family therapist and member of the Christian Democratic Party (PDC). She served as the First Lady of Chile from 1990 until 1994 as the wife of President Patricio Aylwin. She was born in 1919 in Temuco, the daughter of Manuel Oyarzún Lorca and Ana Ivanović Roccatagliata. She married Aylwin on 29 September 1948 and they have five children: Isabel, Miguel, José Antonio, Juan Francisco, and Mariana. Mariana was the Education Minister of Ricardo Lagos' government. Leonor Oyarzún also had 14 grandchildren (among them, telenovela actress Paz Bascuñán). As the First Lady, in 1990 Oyarzún transformed Fundación Nacional de Ayuda a la Comunidad (FUNACO) into Integra, which helps children in extreme poverty. Arturo Frei Bolívar
Erwin Arturo Frei Bolívar (18 November 1939 – January 2022) was a Chilean politician who was a senator and presidential candidate in the 1999 election. Life and career Arturo Frei was born in Santiago on 18 November 1939, as the son of Arturo Frei Montalva and Marcela Bolívar Le Fort. His uncle was Eduardo Frei Montalva, who would become President of Chile in 1964. Frei studied at the ''Colegio de los Sagrados Corazones'' in Concepción and Santiago. Later he studied law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, graduating as a lawyer. As a student, he joined the Christian Democrat Party in 1957. Frei married María Beatriz Ruitort Barrenechea, and they have a son: Arturo Eduardo. For a few years he was assistant professor of tax law, while also working as a lawyer for the Minister of Finance. 2022 Copa Chile
The 2022 Copa Chile (officially known as Copa Chile Easy 2022 due to its sponsorship), was the 42nd edition of the Copa Chile, the country's national football cup tournament. The tournament began on 19 March 2022 and ended on 13 November 2022, with the final match on neutral ground. Magallanes won their first Copa Chile title, defeating Unión Española 7–6 on penalty kicks after a 2–2 draw in the final. Colo-Colo were the defending champions, but were eliminated by Ñublense in the round of 16. 2022 Primera B De Chile
The 2022 Primera B de Chile, also known as Campeonato Ascenso Betsson 2022 for sponsorship purposes, is the 68th season of the Primera B de Chile, Chile's second-tier football league. The fixture for the season was announced on 1 February 2022, with the competition starting on 15 February 2022. Format The tournament is played by 17 teams, 14 returning from the previous season, two relegated from Campeonato Nacional (Deportes Melipilla and Santiago Wanderers), and the Segunda División Profesional champions Deportes Recoleta. The 17 teams will play each other in a double round-robin tournament (once at home and once away) for a total of 32 matches, with every team having two bye rounds.
