2022 Volta Ao Algarve
The 2022 Volta ao Algarve ''(English: Tour of the Algarve)'' was a road cycling stage race that took place between 16 and 20 February 2022 in the Algarve region of southern Portugal. The race was rated as a category 2.Pro event on the 2022 UCI ProSeries calendar, and was the 48th edition of the Volta ao Algarve. After the 2021 edition was postponed to May due to a rising number of COVID-19 cases in Portugal, the race returned to its traditional mid-February timeslot. Teams 10 of the 18 UCI WorldTeams, five UCI ProTeams, and ten UCI Continental teams made up the 25 teams that participated in the race. Only five teams did not enter a full squad of seven riders; and each entered six riders, while , , and each entered five riders. There were two non-starters, one from and each, which reduced those teams to six and four riders, respectively. In total, 165 riders started the race, of which 133 finished. The 2022 UCI ProSeries is the third season of the UCI ProSeries, the second tier road cycling tour, below the UCI World Tour, but above the various regional UCI Continental Circuits. The original calendar consisted of 56 events, of which 30 are one-day races (1.Pro), and 26 are stage races (2.Pro). Monchique
Monchique () is a municipality of southern Portugal, in Faro District (province of Algarve). The population in 2011 was 6,045, in an area of 395.30 km2. The Municipality of Monchique is situated in the Serra de Monchique and together with the town of Monchique is a tourist destination. Attractions include a historic town centre, views from the two peaks of Foia and Picota, hiking, bird watching and biking. There are hot sulfur springs, with baths and health spas south in 'Caldas de Monchique' (Spring of Monchique). Fóia (mountain)
With an elevation of and a topographic prominence of , Fóia is the highest mountain of Algarve, Portugal. It is part of the Serra de Monchique range and is located at within Monchique (parish), Monchique parish.
There is a Road surface, paved road right to the summit which is topped by several telecommunication facilities including the Portuguese Air Force#Fix component, Radar Station Number 1 of the Portuguese Air Force. On a clear day the Atlantic Ocean is visible.

Albufeira
Albufeira () is a city and seat of its own municipality in the district of Faro, in the southernmost Portuguese region of Algarve. The municipality population in 2021 was 44,158, in an area of . The city proper had a population of 28,645 in 2021. It is from Lisbon, and is within close proximity of Paderne Castle. Lagoa is located to the west, and Faro to the south-east. Lagos, Portugal
Lagos (; literally "lakes"; cel-x-proto, Lacobriga) is a city and municipality at the mouth of Bensafrim River and along the Atlantic Ocean, in the Barlavento region of the Algarve, in southern Portugal. Portimão
Portimão () is a city and a municipality in the district of Faro, in the Algarve region of southern Portugal. The population in 2011 was 55,614, in an area of 182.06 km2.
