2022 United Arab Emirates Tri-Nation Series (round 9)
The 2022 United Arab Emirates Tri-Nation Series was the 9th round of the 2019–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 cricket tournament that took place in the United Arab Emirates in March 2022. Originally scheduled to take place in December 2021, it was moved to March 2022 due to fixtures impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic being rearranged. The tri-nation series was contested between Namibia, Oman and the United Arab Emirates cricket teams, with the matches played as One Day International (ODI) fixtures. The ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 formed part of the qualification pathway to the 2023 Cricket World Cup. The series also includes an additional ODI match, between Namibia and Oman. The match was originally scheduled to be played in round four in January 2020, but was cancelled following the death of Qaboos bin Said. 2019–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2
The 2019–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 is the first edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2, a cricket tournament which forms part of the 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualification process. It is currently running from August 2019 to February 2023, with all matches played as One Day Internationals (ODIs). Each set of fixtures will take part as a tri-series. Scotland, Nepal and the United Arab Emirates were joined by the top four teams from the 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament. The first round of fixtures was played in Aberdeen, Scotland in August 2019. The top three teams will advance to the 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournament, while the bottom four teams will have to go into the 2022 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off. One Day International
A One Day International (ODI) is a form of limited overs cricket, played between two teams with international status, in which each team faces a fixed number of overs, currently 50, with the game lasting up to 9 hours. The Cricket World Cup, generally held every four years, is played in this format. One Day International matches are also called Limited Overs Internationals (LOI), although this generic term may also refer to Twenty20 International matches. They are major matches and considered the highest standard of List A, limited-overs competition. The international one day game is a late-twentieth-century development. Bernard Scholtz
Bernard Martinus Scholtz (born 3 October 1990) is a Namibian cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a slow left-arm bowler. He was born in Keetmanshoop. His brother, Nicolaas, four years his senior, has played first-class cricket since 2004. Biography Scholtz played for the Namibia under-19 national team at the 2008 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Malaysia. He made five appearances during the competition proper, taking six wickets. Tangeni Lungameni (born 17 April 1992) is a Namibian international cricketer who made his debut for the Namibian national team in January 2016. He is a left-arm pace bowler. The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises.
